Teams joining to get to No.1... Xibit's idea?
Massman replied to Mutant_Tractor's topic in Team Discussions
Nothing funny; this looks to be serious business. Rumors go Fugger got kicked off the XS team and KP stepped up to convince Gautam to re-instate Fugger's account. Is it allowed for Gautam to remove Fugger from the team? Will that affect their relationship? Why does Kingpin, member of Pure, step up? What are his motives? How come Gautam listens to Kingpin and not Fugger? Will this have repercutions for the team rank and team spirit? Will Fugger's long lost twin brother suddenly show up and date the woman he thinks is his aunt but is in reality his half-sister? Will Kingpin try to shoot at Gautam, but miss, fall down from a cliff while Gautam stretches his arm to reach KP? Discuss. -

Thanks! It was a late night benching session together with Leeghoofd :-). Storage is 1x OCZ Revodrive -
You need to use the future tense; Rev4 is not in progress yet. Above figures are a very rough estimation of the OC capabilities; certainly not a good estimation of what you will get from your setup. For more accurate numbers, I'd have to variance and distribution. Statistics don't claim any truth; people do. Statistics just provides numbers.

That's one of the variables that come into play. It is a fact that extreme overclockers tend to just submit their highest submissions that get points and don't submit, for instance, test runs (although it's those test results that provide interesting data). I hope this will change with the incentive the hardware library feature will provide in rev4.

To be honest, I applaud this decision. It's better to have a perfect product at launch than having to patch it straight after the release.

No. Team rank is function of team points which is function of team members and scores. That's EXACTLY what rev4 is all about. -

Nov'30th 23:59 GMT+1. For the guys that are holding backups; don't expect me to sit here untill 23h59 to manually attach your scores to the competition. Make sure to give me a heads up well in time -
I think it is a two-way street: more financial input from large companies does affect the extend of professionalism of overclocking, but also the more professional the overclocking community becomes, the more eager companies will be to invest resources (= time, money, ...) in overclocking.

The reason why we split up benchmarks based on #CPU_core is that we wanted everyone to have a more fair competition that didn't benefit the highly expensive multi-core CPUs. If we'd allow downclocking, we'd have the same situation where Gulftown would beat all competition due to superior IPC and overclocking capabilities. In addition, why would we split up a competition and then allow ONE product to be used in SIX categories . It doesn't make any sense to both split up and then allow Gulftown to compete in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6xCPU category -

To what extend should this subforum be anonymous?
Massman replied to Massman's topic in HWBOT OC-Crime Center
Well, this all depends on whether I am corrupt for real or not. I mean; if I were corrupt, would I say I'm corrupt? No. In both scenarios (either corrupt or not), I'd say I'm not. Obviously I'm not corrupt. I don't even understand how people would get the idea that I am corrupt to begin with. Perhaps due to a general distrust of people with authority? -

Enough for what? The competition is a single core competition. Using two times a single core equals ... using two cores. And two cores is not one core. If you open the CPU-Z application, you'll notice that the active processor box is active. For dumps that might be different. -
That's not what you said last time
