  1. Was having lots of BSOD, even at stock settings for Kernel issues / kmode exception something or other. I had re-applied thermal paste on my CPU the other day, (CLU under IHS) and that's when the BSOD's started. When I put the CPU back in the socket, I had issues trying to post, had to clear cmos and power off PSU a few times before it worked finally, I was thinking I may have corrupted MEI.

I have been benching lots at 4000+ 12-11-11 before the re-seat of CPU + CLU, so I'm wondering if over time maybe I just messed it up.

I just reflashed it and so far no issues, hopefully I figured out my problem!

Pretty much same problem here, though I did not reinstall or swap cpu's but I did swap to 3600c15's. Constantly getting unexpected kernal mode trap, I thought it had something to do with Boot.ini/BCEdit.exe because I had XP installed and Win 10 and was changing sata ports between Intel (achi Win10 ) and Asmedia (Ide Win XP) after boot screen where it asks if I want to boot 10 or older OS's. Seemed to be working just fine with cpu and mems at 4g, but as soon as I pushed bclk all hell broke loose, even with mems at 1000 auto timings

  2. you can also clean the dimm gold fingers with alcohol they get dirty and signal is weaker

Can't stress enough how important this is, try keeping them clean with contact cleaner only as long as you can so you don't have to physically touch the gold contacts. After a while without cleaning you will have to "scrub" lightly and I prefer a new or very clean tight weave microfiber or the white shop towels for this.

I was about to sell a kit of hyko tridentx ddr3 on ebay because they were barely 2800c9 stable, cleaned the contacts and was able to run 2933c9 uber tight. Thanks for the nice kit Tapakah !

  3. Single GTX 1080's faster than 980's in sli, one 8 pin, 2.1Ghz OC ambient cooling 67C. 8gb gddr5 X memory at 11600mhz. $599.99 or about $50 more for founders edition with Transformers style reference cooler.

GTX 1070 msrp $379.99 (429.99 founders) Faster than a Titan X, and also has 8gb gddr5 memory, though non X

  4. Hey guys, has anyone tested an i3 on air that was terrible but ended up being ok on ln2. The new chip I got barely did 4.3 hwbot prime on air maxed out. Is it worth trying on ln2? My good i3 does 4.8 hwbot prime air and 6.1 ln2. Was just hoping someone had a dog on air that ended up being good

Your good i3 does 4.8 HWBPrm on air, what is the vcore? Is this factoty sealed ihs or delidded, sorry so many questions just trying to guage if my i3 6300 is worth delidding. Just tested HWBPrm and it passes 4900mhz with 1.46-1.465v Full Win 7 64bit on AIO stock lid. Id imagine 5.0g is doable (1.485v failed) but chip runs crazy hot even stock and probably needs 1.515v to get there.

  5. Pricing is spot on, as long as they use an m3 nut like you say or a steel threaded insert to prevent thread stripping. I assume this price is for raw finish, will there be an option for anodizing or nickel plating or would that nearly double your price. No bid deal I already have a few items I'm looking to have done anyways, could just add them to the list

Quick edit, will these be tapped/threaded to hold down ln2 pot such as ek triple point?

  6. Sounds great in theory, but considering I managed to get rank #2 in MaxxMem global/WR with "air" cooling mind you with a ASrock Z170 Pro4S which is full ATX motherboard and am running quad channel DIMM's. So with that said I can't say that statement completely holds true.

I think your right in that longer circuit traces from CPU to memory makes a difference longer wires tend to mean more jitter and latency with less bandwidth. I think the biggest issue is the layout of the DIMM's themselves the closer they are located to the CPU the better and in the case of quad channel it's better to wire them side by side as opposed to using more wiring to run dual channels on each side of the CPU.

As far why one motherboard is better despite a identical appearing bios that's likely just due to better quality components on one versus the other it's pretty easy for the bios software to be identical otherwise. It's quite natural that better components can impact performance and stability I mean that's why liquid nitrogen tends to allow for better benchmarks results than air cooling with the same hardware less heat more stability.

On a side note I really want to beat l0ud_sil3nc3`s liquid nitrogen i7-6700K 6,159.6MHz MaxxMem score with my meager air cooled i3-6100 4,625.89MHz it would just be great on multiple levels quite frankly between the CPU the OC and the cooling itself. The fact that I got within 24 marks itself is remarkable to me actually plus it benched and display more quickly which is odd and makes me somewhat question how the results are measured in the first place.

This is not really even a benchmark, there is a reason you didn't receive any global points for it, and it's not because you didn't include a single cpu-z tab on your screenshot

  7. Almost ready :)

I think we need to put a group buy together for North America guys since there seems to be a lot of interest for these. I would be interested in purchasing 4 of 5 kits myself and 1 or 2 copper kits if available, and not crazy expensive.

  8. hey guys if you have random double booting or haning on 19 alot or full shut downs when you just change something like voltages and bclk try to reflash the MEI in the bios and should fix it. Gets corrupted sometimes it seems or maybe just me. lol

Defiantly not just you, it seems like this board is so good at making whatever timing changes work that probably shouldn't and I think eventually mei becomes corrupt because of this. Not sure I said this quite right but hope you get the point

  9. I would never, never sell my cpu for 325$....and prime Custom is not Superpi;)....

Never said it was, overall Im sure your chip is better than mine but keep in mind that without proven results of near 1/1 core/uncore and a strong imc the cpu will not be desirable to many guys here. It's the same with memory, sure it's great a PSC PI kit can do 2666c6 at 1.95v cold but if it can't keep scaling with voltage I would place greater value on a kit that needs 2.2v for the same 2666c6 if it also does 2800c6 at 2.35v.

You certainly have a Top cpu there, I'm just saying if you you want top dollar it's a tough sell here unless you can prove it's not a one trick pony. If your cpu can run something like Geekbench3 at 5000/5000 with psc 2700+ c8 or Samsung D 2933+ c9 with both cache and core volts under 1.3v it is far more desirable. If you had cold results showing -135C CB and running something like 6300/6000 with mems at 2900c6 people would be throwing money at you. Still you have a top 5% chip, Good Luck with Sale
