Hey,

I did a boat load of research trying to figure out how to OC memory and apparently everyone loves Samsung B die. I guess Samsung E die is supposedly tier 2?

Does anyone know how good the Chinese eBay Samsung B die stuff overclocks? Sample link: Samsung 16GB 2x8GB DDR4 2133Mhz PC4-17000 288pin Desktop Memory Non-ECC RAM 1Rx8 | eBay

Also, is there somewhere with more information on what dies RAM are? I can only find super basic info.

It seems that cheap Hynix kits at 3200Mhz are usually 16-18-18-38, and Samsung kits are usually around ~$160-170, and have a separate set of timings?

It seems that the most common kits of B die are the Corsair Vengeance LPX, and G.Skill TridentZ/Ripjaw V, but those kits are pretty expensive.

And I really don't know if B-die manufactured more recently has any difference than the 2133 1.2V B-die on eBay.

Someone binned Samsung OEM long ago, it was a complete fail on oc. Maybe now things have changed, but this can only be evaluated by trying

B-Die is not D9, some of my best DDR2 are OEM D9, i don't think any newer oem sticks are good for OC, maybe BBSE but i'm not sure on them :)

Samsung oem b die is not that good, someone I know tried binning (a lot of) them. Samsung oem E die can be good.

My Samsung E die did 4000MHz C12:

Altough it never did anything above 4000MHz...
