Plasma_Carrot Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 I'm having major issues with CPUz freezing the system at about the 12 to 15% point whilst detecting processors. Version 1.50 works fine but I can not get a validation link and therefore can't compete in the % overclock round. Any ideas would be appreciated, I'm trying to use an Athlon XP 1700+ for this round. Administrators websmile Posted April 4, 2017 Administrators Posted April 4, 2017 Have you tried to disable dmi detection for example at the ini? Sometimes conflicts there can cause this (drivers etc), maybe you try to disable some detections one by one to find the problem, it might help you to get correct detection nontheless, not all is necessary what is enabled at cpuz detection process Quote
cbjaust Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I've been having the same problem, for 3DMark2001 SE can we use a CPUz version that doesn't cause issues? Quote
Administrators websmile Posted April 5, 2017 Administrators Posted April 5, 2017 I have personally no problem if you use older cpuz for this oldschool round, but I would recommend you try to fix it nontheless (way to try is described above). At competitions for big prizes or team and country cup on which the cpuz version is mandatory you will not be able to participate in the future if you can´t slove the problem.. Quote
TASOS Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I'm having major issues with CPUz freezing the system at about the 12 to 15% point whilst detecting processors. Version 1.50 works fine but I can not get a validation link and therefore can't compete in the % overclock round.Any ideas would be appreciated, I'm trying to use an Athlon XP 1700+ for this round. I had the exact same problem. Disabling DMI or sensors or whatever in cpuz .ini didnt help. All cpuz versions that need to install into program files were causing me freezes. Only the old , stand alone cpuz versions were working. I uninstalled all cpuz versions i had in my os and restart. Then i removed all registry entries (regarding cpuz-cpuid) and restart. Installed 1.78.1 and it worked. Quote
Plasma_Carrot Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 Thanks TASOS, I have also tried setting DMI to 0 in the config file with no joy. I have also tried using 1.78.3 as a portable run from a USB which failed in the same way. I'll try clearing out all previous and reg entries. Thanks again for pointers. Quote
I.nfraR.ed Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 (edited) Have you tried the "portable" version from the beginning and DMI disabled + XOC enabled? I never install it, always use the one from provided zip. PS: I see you got 1.78.1 working, should be fine to use. 1.78.3 really is strange even on AM2 cpu/boards on XP, just look at the div VII submissions. Edited April 5, 2017 by I.nfraR.ed Quote
Plasma_Carrot Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 I have got 1.78.3 working but it is very unreliable. The core voltage is miss reported off and on and it still freezes but only when I have a good score to screen shot. Back to 150 version of Cinebench and 3d mark submissions if that is OK. This old shit is starting to cause me to lose hair. Quote
hubip Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 (edited) Hi. I've got a question with CPU-Z. It's not reading the DRAM frequency and the FSB : DRAM. Both of the fields are blank. CPU-Z is v1.78.3 CPU: intel celeron 2.4GHz (nortwood) ( I'm not participate in the old school challenge ) RAM: noname 2X1024 ddr 333MHz (PC2700) For what reason can't reading the values? What can I try to fix it? I appreciate any ideas. Edited April 7, 2017 by hubip Quote
Administrators websmile Posted April 7, 2017 Administrators Posted April 7, 2017 Try 178.1 or 178.2 without install, like said above by another member I never install but use zip verssion standalone. Your problem is simply missing or misread driver by cpuz, maybe also a conflict at readout imho Quote
TAGG Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 (edited) Same Problem here, can someone link me 1.78.1 portable? EDIT: @infra: do you mind sharing your NF7S BIOS with us? Or at least a MANTARAYS link that isn't dead? Edited April 7, 2017 by TAGG Quote
I.nfraR.ed Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 (edited) I've shared it long time ago, but here it is again: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0ByfNThxT1gbTaTFYTUg1a3p6VFk?usp=sharing 1T rev.2 and 2T rev.1. As a bonus, bioses for AN7 too: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0ByfNThxT1gbTVFR5R3RrVXNRRFE?usp=sharing Edited April 7, 2017 by I.nfraR.ed Quote
TAGG Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Thank you, i was trying to find MANTARAYS XT for at least 4 hours at this point Quote
I.nfraR.ed Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 (edited) Collection of bioses: Index of /AMD_k7 There you have the Mantarays, but I really only use my own bioses. I was using one of the latest Merlin's bioses (one of TaiPan ones) before that, never really liked the Mantarays XT. My old link to ClassicPlatforms' bios archive is not working anymore, not sure if not hidden already. Perhaps Scotty could help. Edited April 7, 2017 by I.nfraR.ed Quote
Mr.Scott Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Classicplatforms no longer exists. I have the entire bios collection at W9. You can always message me if you need something. I pretty much only use my own bios's also. Quote

Administrators websmile Posted April 7, 2017 Administrators Posted April 7, 2017 https://www.dropbox.com/s/1z8a0gvobgbgb0r/cpu-z_1.78-en.zip?dl=0 maybe it helps. I saw people work with it even for current comp, it should get it done I suppose Quote
TAGG Posted April 7, 2017 Posted April 7, 2017 Boom like magic, everything works now... Thanks alot Quote

Pin mods and bridge mods don't work on NF2 chipsets. Quote
TAGG Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 will try with other chipset tomorrow, probably not worth it though... I think i'll be better off finding a good older batch chip There has to be some trick tough tiborrr managed to get x13 multi on NF7-S with a locked chip: tiborrr`s CPU Frequency score: 3119.79 mhz with a Athlon XP 3000+ (Barton) Quote
I.nfraR.ed Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 This is the default multi of that chip. Nothing unlocked. Quote
TAGG Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 I confused it with the 3200+ which has 11x multi... I really should go to bed Quote
hubip Posted April 9, 2017 Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) Thanks for the response. Unfortunately I not found the .1 nor .2 version. I find always the v.3 for download. I did try some old versions, like 1.77; 1.73; 1.65.1; 1.43; (I choosed them randomly) and I tried change the DMI and XOC as I read above. Still the same issue..... Edited April 9, 2017 by hubip Quote
