July 1, 201113 yr GTX 295 allowed ? I mean if we use only one Cause I know 2x GTX 295 is not allowed, because it's 4 core If not, I have to ask my friend my second GTX 275 back or try a SLI with GTX 285 + GTX 275 Edited July 1, 201113 yr by Christian Ney
July 1, 201113 yr As is 2x dual GPU, for 4 cores in total is allowed? Or the single dual gpu card counts as SLI for the competition?
July 1, 201113 yr only single dual gpu card (2 core in total) 2x dual gpu (4 core in total) is not allowed Edited July 1, 201113 yr by Christian Ney
July 1, 201113 yr Ah, at last something interesting! p.s. there definitely should be a CF competition next month to make AMD/NVIDIA addicted guys treated equally
July 1, 201113 yr Guess finding dual gpu - single slot cards - is going to be a tough job. Been searching the internetz and me hasn't found anything for sale...
July 1, 201113 yr Please remove the June link from the competition drop down menu on the front page and add this one. Edited July 1, 201113 yr by Gunslinger worded inappropriately
July 1, 201113 yr Yeah still showing Junes comp. Should show this. http://hwbot.org/competition/hoc_jul11/
July 1, 201113 yr p.s. Massman I just tried some links to the older competitions and they currently do not work. Will you turn them back somewhen? Hope there will be a HWBOT challenge list when you fix all the bugs of the current project version.
July 1, 201113 yr Interesting competition, let's see some of those records getting pwned big time I'll join in with 2x6600GT and 2x8800GT.
July 2, 201113 yr Forgotten to mention this one: Originally I was going to allow 3-Way and 4-Way too, but that would require too much money to just play (and people would end up running air cards). 2-Way will be interesting, though. Especially because the benchmarks are quite GPU-limited (with those low-end cards) Pieter, I suppose you killed the "anti - too much money to just play - idea" for GF8/9/200 series by choosing Vantage. It is much more platform-dependent than any other popular benchmark for this graphics (SR-2 definitely rocks here and it costs much more than extra GF8/GF9 -)).
July 2, 201113 yr Author Competition list should be updated. Forgot to 'unhide' the July competition . Finished competitions stay up for 3 days so everyone has the time to check the scores. p.s. Massman I just tried some links to the older competitions and they currently do not work. Will you turn them back somewhen? Hope there will be a HWBOT challenge list when you fix all the bugs of the current project version. Hm, they should all work. Good idea about the HOC list! I'll look into it! Forgotten to mention this one: Pieter, I suppose you killed the "anti - too much money to just play - idea" for GF8/9/200 series by choosing Vantage. It is much more platform-dependent than any other popular benchmark for this graphics (SR-2 definitely rocks here and it costs much more than extra GF8/GF9 -)). Even with the older cards? IIRC, Vantage is so GPU-limited with the older cards that SR2 doesn't really add that much to the final score. Even with Sandy Bridge you should be able to compete with 980X. We could disallow SR2, I guess. But I don't think it's necessary.
July 2, 201113 yr The CPU score isn't weighted hugely, but it's enough to make taking top spots in older slow cards quite easy with a 980x. The 4k+ CPU score drags the total score up quite a bit even with a three digit GPU score. That was my experience at least.
July 2, 201113 yr any good sources for singe card - dual GPU sollutions? Can't find any, except overpriced GTX295...
July 2, 201113 yr let's hope so. If not i'm going to sit this one out, waiting for an AGP competition

At least with GF 200 it should really matter.Anyway don't think it's an option to prohibit the SR-2 usage. Let the people have fun and go for some records if they want to
July 3, 201113 yr To avoid CPU dependence, why not use GPU score for this kind of challenge instead ot the ''P'' (Performance) score ?
July 3, 201113 yr I you want to break records, you don't need any challenge to push you do it. HWBot OC Challenge should be something different than normal, imo
July 3, 201113 yr Author any good sources for singe card - dual GPU sollutions? Can't find any, except overpriced GTX295... Maybe Gamer or Leeghoofd can find the right cards.
