CPU doesn't scale anymore. It's OK if I keep it at ~ -130°C under LN2 but once I go lower than this temperature it's game over, no more scaling. It's a 200-250MHz drop from original IHS. I have now seen three CPUs with exactly the same behavour.

 

P.S.: I use Gelid GC-Extreme since we are sitting on a ton of this stuff.

a friend here in sweden had a 3570k only able to run single channel after delid. IMO too risky to do this. I cracked the core on a decent 3770k after one too many remounts. (direct die watercooling, maybe not the brightest idea)

@Calathea: Knife cut to the PCB I suppose? When you cut ground it's usually OK but if you cut signal then.... :)

 

I suppose so, I don't know actually. He delidded another 3570k which did ok. I won't do it again either way :D

Hi guys, has anyone tried to put more gelid extreme on die? intel put a lot of tim on die.....

with more tim should go also to cover the sides of the die.....are hot too!!!

delidded about 30 CPU's for local gamers, 100% success rate so far with block and hammer technique lol.

 

tiborr keep trying to figure out how to run ln2 on delided chip lol! we must find it

my best cpu after delid, dropped to 6.3 instead of 6,5 in 3d:(
