hipro5 Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 As tittle says........ What is the trick for wPrime to get lower scores?...... I've tested with my Rams in EVERY Config and I get about the same resault.......Example: 5-5-5-12 and 4-3-3-4 at 600MHz(1200MHz DDR) and then with 1:1 at 3-2-2-2 and 1:1 at 3-3-3-4 .......I keep geting the same resault...... So what's the "trick" of it?...... Thanks..... Quote
Massman Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 MAke sure you're running XP. Wprime doesn't like server03 Quote
Maxi Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 You need to sit there and run it a few times, it's not very consistent particularly on a quad. Basically it's the CL "trick" Quote
hipro5 Posted April 24, 2007 Author Posted April 24, 2007 You need to sit there and run it a few times, it's not very consistent particularly on a quad. Basically it's the CL "trick" I can bench it at 5200MHz+ with the QUAD but I get worst score than the others.......It's new to me and I need help though..... What's that CL trick?......could you explain better?.....Thanks.... EDIT: Ahhh....Now I got it......!......Thanks M8..... ;) I'm always on WinXP.... Quote
Massman Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Car Low (3dmark01), I think. Run the bench multiple times in order to find the fastest one. Quote
Maxi Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Thats it, CL x 20 = Car Low test repeated 20 times. Geeze rich and here I always thought you were an '01 addict in hiding hipro can you post a result of your slower LOL scores Quote
Crew Trouffman Posted April 24, 2007 Crew Posted April 24, 2007 5,2Ghz benchable on quad... QX6800 spotted Quote
Massman Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 Ahhhh, makes sense. So, faster CL run = faster wPrime run? You really need to start benching again Quote

rezal16 Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 hello... i got problem here. can any one help me? i am new. and iam from indonesia. my english isn't good enough. my question is : what is the lower point in wprime for Quad Core @ air cooling OCing? Thanx before. Peace! Quote
Maxi Posted September 28, 2007 Posted September 28, 2007 Hi rezal, It depends on the core revision and what kind of air cooling, there can be some pretty big differences between them. Quote
Hak Foo Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 If you're benching a processor type which was available in a MP configuration, you can score major wins easily that way by throwing extra sockets into it. Stock clocked dual > overclocked single. But I suppose that sort of stops being an option after the PIII. Don't forget to kill off any parasitic load (Explorer, for example). Quote
Massman Posted September 27, 2008 Posted September 27, 2008 Athlon XP has multi-socket motherboards as well Quote
Hak Foo Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Don't you have to cross some bridges on an XP to convert it to a MP, and then it identifies as a MP (thus not necessarily putting you in the category you wanted to compete in) Quote
Crew Turrican Posted September 29, 2008 Crew Posted September 29, 2008 yeah, if you want to use a dual config you must use 2 athlon mps or mod 2 identical xps to mps. the mps and xps are completly the same, only difference is that the last l3 bridge is open or closed (don't remember exactly, need to look in my notes) Quote
westsider Posted January 13, 2009 Posted January 13, 2009 core i7 is just blowing up wprime 4Ghz simple OC @8 threads and it goes with 6.5+ sec 4.5GHz and you get ~ 5.2+ sec Quote
TjerkB Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 The Wprime trick is that your cpu has to be 100% stable. Otherwise it makes calcelation fault wich take longer. Like on 5Ghz 100% stable it can be faster than on 5,2Ghz unstable. Quote
knopflerbruce Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 There is some special tweak that cuts off like 10% of the total score, too. Some use it... no clue what it is, though:rolleyes: Quote
Chiller Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 on XP or Windows7 it's faster doh. http://www.hwbot.org/hallOfFame.do?type=result&applicationId=14 i did this run on XP, and the score was much better then on Vista. With every setup by the way. Quote
Hyperhorn Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 (edited) Win XP x86 isn`t that slow with SP3 (IMO actually the best choice for x86), but when you talk about Vista and newer ones, you have to differ x86 and x64. @knopflerbruce: 10 % is a lot, not to say a HUGE difference. Are you really sure this is some kind of tweak instead of proper OS selection? Edited June 21, 2009 by Hyperhorn Quote
Chiller Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 Chiller, was that lited and tweaked Vista? that was on Xp, NOT vista. Quote
ceemic Posted June 21, 2009 Posted June 21, 2009 that was on Xp, NOT vista. i did this run on XP, and the score was much better then on Vista I ment, with what Vista You compared to it? I'm pretty sure that lited/tweaked 32bit Vista is faster than XP on wPrime. Quote
