  1. Not for nothing but, wouldn't that be defeating the purpose of how the 3 leagues were broken down in the first place? In my understanding, the Pro league was for sponsored guys or guys that felt they could compete with sponsored guys on the same level. The other 2 remaining leagues were split via cooling method, to alleviate the 'we can't compete with the extreme cold guys fairly' bitching. It never had anything to do with cost of hardware. IMO, there should be no further break down of leagues than what I posted above. Can't afford a 3 or 4 card setup?, then you don't bench a 3 or 4 card setup and don't expect to compete with the guys that do. Common sense prevails here. What ever happened to KISS?
  2. I'm more pleased the we can have a civil discussion, than anything about PCM05. Thank you for that.
  3. I wanted a more drastic example. You caught the post as I was editing. I understand the board will level out eventually, but that doesn't make it right. Besides, almost nobody will bench using the tweaks on old hardware. Somebody could make a substantial killing in hardware points on the old platforms should they decide to apply themselves to it, and those rankings may never level out. If it's now just about global points, then omit hardware points for PCM05.
  4. See....it's a vicious circle pending your point of view. Being a hardware bench, I see the hardware first and foremost. You see the tweaks being more important than the actual hardware.
  5. Yes, but they are just examples. My point was that a single core at the same speed of a dual core, with the same periferal extra hardware, using tweaks/hacks, should never be able to beat said dual core that's using no tweaks. Unless I'm mistaken and PCM05 is a totally single threaded app. A tweaked single core should never beat a dual at the same speed ever. Yet I can find examples of it in the rankings. That's why this is no longer a hardware bench.
  6. Copy-waza and drivers will not increase/decrease your score 100+%. Right now a 3000+ Venice at 3 gig with all the tweaks applied, will kill an Opty 165 at 3 gig with no tweaks using all the exact same hardware. That should never happen. When the tweaks/hacks score more points than the hardware being benched, the bench is skewed. It's no longer a hardware bench.
  7. Further discussion with you is pointless because you don't respect my opinion anyway. You're turning it personal, and it's not. Don't worry, I'm not heartbroken.
  8. Sorry to hear that. Guess that would make me the bigger man then. At least I respect your opinion.
  9. Hardware library is only representative of what you have benched, not what you have. Ahh yes. The statement of last resort when you have no argument or don't like somebody else's opinion. That's ok though, I can respect that.
  10. lol Silly man. I have more than enough hardware to take advantage of the bench. Why do you care whether I think the bench is a sham or not? I understand that, but when the software manipulation becomes more important that the actual hardware OC, the benchmark is no longer a measure of hardware. Right now, you can actually beat better hardware, substantially, with lesser hardware, just by using the hacks. That tells me the bench is skewed.
  11. Don't like what you're reading?, don't read it. This is about as accurate as it gets right here. Points manipulation at it's finest.
  12. I believe OCA has a couple guys over 60. So does CP.
  13. I can't help be agree. It's a slippery slope.
  14. I singled out no one. Glad your conscience feels better now though.
  15. What ever happened to just playing for the fun of it? I knew going in that I stood no chance, yet I play. Why must there always be a reward involved other than a 'hey, good job man' and a pat on the back. Honestly, some of you guys just kill the fun aspect of overclocking. It's very discouraging.
  16. Edited to show I'm a standup guy. If I can reproduce the other score, I'll update it.
  17. I noticed that also. Don't really think it's bugged because it's not radically out of line, but at the same time, I suppose it could be. I didn't do anything out of the ordinary though.
  18. Got a backup in the 11,xxx range. Just can't seem to break 12,000. Working on it though.
