It's because the staff are benchers too. Nobody is willing to give up secrets in the name of fair play because it takes away their edge. The staff is more loyal to their benching teams than they are to the site. Not all the staff mind you, just some. @ Sweet- Hola Alex. We have not spoke in a long time. I miss that. Don't be a stranger.

Lol. If you say so. -
I answered a question that was posed to me, that makes it on topic. I have no preference for any bench. I stopped playing it a while ago when I realized that it was no longer being used as a hardware bench like it was supposed to be. People are just using this exploited bench to stoke globals, and there's nothing you can say to prove any different. How many people still run MaxxMem being that there are no points?
-
No points, because hardware no longer matters. If anything, silverware only. Let's see how many will still run it when no points are involved.
-
Nobody mentioned OS tweaking. Replacing files in a benchmark is illegal though. It always has been, yet for some reason it's being overlooked in this benchmark. Why?
-
Uh huh. Please explain how you overclock software? You can't, but you can hack software. That is not overclocking in my book.

Well spoken. :celebration: /thread -
Not trying to be a hater but, it would seem the evidence is quite obvious. I would assume the penalty would be quite obvious also. It shouldn't take that much effort...........unless you're waiting for the check to clear.
-
Agreed. I'm bored. Let's go with the monthly's again.
-
That's why I mentioned it. It's the easy out. Anything that can be done to save PCM05 will have to be done here. FM is unlikely to help due to the age of the bench and PCM7 coming out. I'm all for trying a wrapper. I don't dislike the bench, I dislike the way it's being exploited.
-
Excellent question. You can't leave them. They'll be there till the end of time, and you can't pick and choose which one's because legitimate scores will become collateral damage. Only way I can see it is to wipe all PCM05 scores and start from scratch.
-
Don't get your hopes up. With PCM7 coming out, they just might say F' it and retire support.
-
HWB staff ARE benchers. @ GENiEBEN - I think your offer was most generous, futile maybe, but generous just the same.
-
Yup, that's right. Now those subs should be re-instated, unless you're just going to pick and choose who's being called a cheat.
-
Understood. I don't play either. I find it ironic that in the not so distant past, Optytrooper was labeled a PCM05 cheat for suspicion of using powertoy, that was never proven BTW, and what goes on now makes that look paltry in comparison. Now it's all high fives and "nice tweak" and nobody seems to think anythings wrong with that. It's bullsh1t.
-
So you're admitting that it's not being played fair then?
-
As stated many many times before, when the mods admit it can't be moderated, it's time to eliminate the bench, or at least the points. Evidence of a perfectly good bench ruined by hackers. Take away the points, I guaranty nobody will waste their time on it any more.
-
It's ok, you can hang with me and the other haters anytime.
-
Can I ask why you bother to unlock if you're just going to use it as a dual anyway? EDIT- Nevermind. Probably just picking the 2 highest clocking cores and disabling the other two.
