  1. Started a thread about an invalid issue I'm having, then saw this thread. I did go ahead and download 1.0.2 and will try that shortly.
  2. Can't seem to fiqure this out, always getting that my sub is invalid. I can save the result and sub it, run the bench online while logged into the site..... Doesn't matter what I do it keeps saying my run is invalid. Also noted it always reads my CPU speed as stock, not for where it's set in the BIOS/where it's actually running at. This is the sub I tried to enter and had to disable points because of this. Bones`s HWBOT Prime 30min score: 8400761 max prime with a Core i3 7350K EDIT: Just saw the other thread about it and posted there. ?
  3. Agreed - Legacy pieces should be supported and perhaps as it is with the two versions themselves to simply have a normal and legacy heading in the rankings for each once the update is completed.
  4. Yep - All 3D benchies requires the sensor tabs in GPU-Z to be shown in the screenie. That would be all stages from 6-10 to be exact. Be sure to read the rules for each stage you'll be competing in.
  5. Someone else said it's an issue of the smaller lithography not holding up as well, not the thinness of the chips and that could be it too. As said earlier I don't really "Know", just trying to come up with a possible answer here that may help.
  6. I'm really starting to believe it's a side-effect of Intel making the chips thinner period. Normally not a problem since 99.9999999% of them would never be ran frozen/Extreme conditions but for the select few that are, it's becoming a real issue.
  7. Hmmm.........? I too believe what's happening is related to the same basic effect of a chip that just dies one day after it's been ran hard awhile on LN2, but in this case the effect has been amplified to a ridiculous extent due to the thermal differences between what would be the hottest and coldest part(s) of the chip while running the bench on LN2. Part(s) of the chip gets really hot during a run so that these part(s) of it expands thermally, the other part(s) remains very cool in comparision and has much less expansion creating severe thermal stress cracks in the die itself. It's making me think the silicon die is just cracking up in the literal sense, staying together well enough while it's still being cooled to operate but once the entire chip warms back up and expands thermally, that's the point of death. I'd also think how newer chips (Intel's) are being made today is a major factor with this - I mean we all know by now the PCB and other parts of these newer chips are thinner than older ones which makes them inherently weaker by comparison too. Could be the effects of this are finally showing and the X265 - 4K test ran under LN2 cooling is simply revealing it in spades vs older, thicker chips. I'm also not aware of AMD making their chips any thinner like Intel has been doing with the last few gens of chips made at least. Maybe someone could actually refreeze one and see what happens. If it comes back to life frozen, then dies again once back at room temp that would more or less confirm it in the practical sense but in turn that would depend on how badly it cracked up in the first place to even have a chance of coming back, frozen or otherwise. TBH I don't "Know" but it's a thought - Maybe someone could refreeze a chip and see guys.
  8. That's what I voted for myself. What I proposed is something that doesn't have to be done right away, can be done later in another revision if need be but just thought I had and possibly something for the future..... Or with this revision if desired. Up to the guys how it goes and I'm good with whatever they decide. ?
  9. Not bad - We'll have to see what other ideas are suggested and let the guys decide what they want. I can go with it however it winds up being. ?
  10. Have to disagree with a few points. No way the average joe shmo will be able to compete with sponsored guys, only those with deep pockets would be able to make a good run at it. Their advantage is obvious - They can get multiple examples of chips, board, GPU's, RAM and such to bin then use the best out of the bunch to run and yes, it happens. For the average guy this simply isn't possible and that's one big reason sponsored guys have a league of their own (Elite) and quite frankly, they actually need it. However....... Here's an idea. Something amounting to an "Elite" comp/class for those that qualify from the extreme rankings IF Elite/Extreme are indeed lumped together anyway, however anyone would be able to try and see if they can qualify regardless of class. That can also be just those from the combined class of Elite/Extreme would be eligible to try for it if desired. This would create both, competition within the proposed class AND opportunity for those that may want to take a shot at it. Regardless, that is to say it could be a seasonal thing in that once a year you gotta earn your spot just to even be called "Elite" and that classification would hold for a full season, repeating things to qualify/remain in for the next season. Voluntary of course and like it was in a few past comps once you're in it's for that season period. Being in however would qualify you for such "Elite" events and comps if that's your thing but if not well.... There's always next year. If there are a limited number of spots in such a league, that would make for some competition just to claim one of those with this qualification being done in the month of January each year if they'd like. In short - Wanna be called "Elite"? You gotta earn your spot and prove it each year. I know most in the current Elite class have already proven it but personally it seems crazy to me I have more points total than at least some of the Elite's, just doesn't seem right but that's how it is, hence the suggestion not only earn but to keep your Elite status. It would also make the term "Elite" mean just that. As to classes: Rookie: Definitely need that for the new guys. As ot the rest - Novice needs to go, it's like the appendix of the bot - Useless. A non-LN2 league all else would have to be in regardless, basically combining Apprentice and Enthusiast leagues. Extreme for those that do run LN2. So.... This is what I've got. Rookie: Enthusiast/Apprentice: Extreme: Elite by seasonal qualification only. Please remember this is just a suggestion guys - Could be food for thought for something in a different form than suggested and doesn't even have to be done with this revision, could be done with a later revision too. Thoughts?
  11. If you really want it that badly then certainly it's obtainable, no question about that and can only speak for myself - So I will. I personally don't care about being sponsored, if it happens so be it but either way I'll still be going at it like always. If a sponsor does decide to give me a shot I'll hit it as hard as I can to prove my worth, not taking the chance for granted should it present itself. In my case it's not about a job - I'm actually in the process of filing for disability because of heart problems (2 previous heart attacks) so "Getting a job" isn't doable in my case anymore. Again, circumstances determine what one can or cannot do and unfortunately these aren't always within one's control, you do what you can and certainly what you have to at the very least. I do it because it's something I Iove doing and for me it's also a way to pass the time (Plenty of that now) and take my mind off of things. So no - I'm not bitching, just telling it like it is, at least in my case.
  12. Well, the biggest difference I can see is who has the money for it. If sponsored there isn't alot of expense involved from one's own pocket, if paying out of pocket then it's not as easy to even have the stuff or would you be as "Lucky" to get that golden chip. I already own everything I need to run LN2 BUT I don't have money to spare to get it with the expense of it. Some of us could actually do it but due to a lack of funds for such, just ain't happening - Not that's it's the bot's problem mind you, just how it is. Like myself there's several guys here that have the skills and could go on a rampage if they were simply able to run LN2 vs what they've been doing and nothing else - Frankly I'd love to but my circumstances won't allow for it. Maybe that will change later but gotta make do with things as is. Yes, it's a choice but again it's not, circumstances always dictates who does what and from person to person, everyone's is different. However..... I do like the idea of just having three leagues as stated above, no need to prove anything cooling related and it becomes a "Run what you brung and just hope you're brought enough" kind of thing. I can deal with that.
  13. I'm waiting for the auction to be #1 to start..... Anytime guys....... Still waiting. BTW where the hell is my credit card? ?
  14. Nice run! Good to see you're still kicking, I hope you and yours are doing well.
  15. Guys, I'll thrown in on the subject of swapping teams. Some have said it was done because their teams were either small or inactive, I'm not going to say those aren't good reasons nor can say if it's right or wrong (Pass judgement). I am an example of someone that was on a team that was both, small and inactive yet last year I benched in both TC and CC on my own inspite of it. Did rather well considering all things and even won a prize from the CC part of it in the end. Didn't have to change teams, I just did it. If someone is really determined to bench they will do what I did, bench regardless and just enjoy the competition. No you won't be in the running to actually win the comp but in my case it was to see how competitive I could be on my own, that is to say "Gauge" how well I was doing vs everyone else and that is certainly a way to see how well you're doing if anything. However I will say it does change the dynamic of a team's makeup and overall results because it most certainly will. ~End ✌️ cents worth for whatever it's worth if anything to anyone.~
  16. You guys are right, only for the mem part of it but I did them all that way regardless to make sure what I subbed was "Legal". Better a little extra than not enough.
  17. Who'd a thunk it possible for Splave to be running AMD? But of course it is..... Great job! ?
  18. An additional problem is not all the required tabs are in the screenie. Even if the rendered scene wasn't covered the RAM SPD info isn't there and that was made a requirement for this year's comp for all entries. May not be the case next year but was for this one.
  19. If you haven't tried it already, go into the actual stage itself and use the submission tab there. I've ran into this before and that's how I've been doing subs since that happened.
