  1. Okay, here's something that has confused me... Both places binning 6700K have said something like 5% of chips are stable at 4.8GHz and <1.40V but there are TONS of chips better than this in the batch thread. I know people often times only report good CPU's but something definitely seems off. EDIT: Not trying to say these chips aren't good... Just trying to figure out why the professional binning outfits are having such different results than the people reporting in batch thread.
  2. I have a few weekends in mind... gotta figure out what's going on with my life first as I may be moving back to Louisville within the year. I should be able to post some dates after the weekend of the 8th. Thinking the weekend of 1/22, 1/29, 2/1, 2/8 or any time in March atm.
  3. Got the mention right now... Cool. I may try to plan something small in the near future. Lots of stuff popping up right now so I'll try to pick a weekend and bounce it off you guys.
  4. @coolhand411, you're that close to Chicago? How about a small bench gathering after the new year? @TheGoat Eater, @Deux, @GtiJason, @filmbot you guys interested?
  5. 6700K - $335 $320 4.8GHz through Cinebench R15 @ 1.46V There are some cosmetic dents to the IHS from the delid process (cardboard slipped down on the vice so the teeth weren't protected). There is Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut under the IHS, though it is NOT resealed at this point. Assume no warranty from Intel unless you swap the IHS and reseal. Shipping USA - USPS Priority mail included in price CA - USPS First Class (no precise tracking) included in price Worldwide - $10 credit towards shipping. Buyer responsible for difference. Disclaimer This chip has been tested subzero. In my experience, it has no cold bug with the right voltages on the right board (if you're using a Z170X-SOC Force, I'm happy to share my settings). It's capable of 5.9GHz through light 3D load (3D03) and 5.7 through heavier stuff (3D06). These are my experiences and they are not guaranteed in the sale. I know it has more in it but my board kicked it and I just bought a ring for my now Fiance () so I won't have time to test it for a while. Payment Payment via Paypal. Buyer must have feedback. No returns accepted. Lowballs will be ignored. My Heatware My OCN Trader Rep
  6. Hey Pieter, that link just brings you back to this thread. Where were you trying to link? EDIT: Nvm... looks like you split it into two threads.
  7. Thanks Pieter. I added a note to the OP with a link to the News Flash you provided. I'll have a few more versions for you to upload tomorrow. I'll mention you and put together another post like last time.
  8. Riiiight. We all know you tucked yourself in to your beaver pelt bed and have been dreaming of Tim's coffee since the end of the competition.
  9. Wow... On point with your XTU searching! I'll get them added this evening or tomorrow... about to leave the office!
  10. Yes, that's what happens when your bench rig is not connected to the internet. You can click the associated validation links to check them on Futuremark.
  11. Wow guys... Nicely done! Thanks for all your work Kimir. Just a note, touslesdrivers has a bad link for 6.0.2.1. On their site all looks well but if you check the details on the file they link, it's actually 6.0.2.2. Thanks!
  12. I don't think he meant any offense to you. Massman stated that he started this thread because you and a few others had started threads about 3D points so he wanted to explore the point spread. Alex was just stating that as a fact, not as an attempt to call anyone out, if I understand correctly.
  13. Breeze! Don't remind them! They had settled back in to their frosty moose-filled habitat and were moving on with their lives!
  14. Link 'em if you got 'em :ws: Thanks, Breeze.
  15. Alex, I agree with much of what you said. The only thing I disagree with is how Pieter and the staff have gone about gathering feedback for an upcoming change. As he has said, they don't have the technical backbone to continue with the current rankings (as we've all seen). Whether they just need a server upgrade or not is unknown to me. Assuming a new server wouldn't do what is required, we're stuck changing the ranking engine out of necessity. With that said, I've very happy that the staff have asked for thoughts an opinions before putting things to a vote. That way we can have the best possible solutions up for vote rather than early drafts.
  16. @Massman, here's the first batch. No code has to be inserted here. View Folder Online EDIT: Current through post # 8
  17. Intel has recently stopped hosting older versions so I'm looking to put together a library with links and notes on compatibility for older versions. Please share what you have downloaded now and if you have any experience with it working or not working with certain platforms, please share. No code has to be inserted here. Note: Only versions 5.1.2 and newer can be used to upload scores to HWBot. Anything older should only be used for personal testing and will be blocked if used to make a submission for points. See HWBot News here for more information.
  18. So all of these gains that you're seeing over the previous air AFR subs (closer to 5:58 and 7:20 on 5.0 and 4.0, respectively)... is that all in B-Die or did you guys come across some amazing tweak? If you can keep similar efficiency to that... your ~6.7 6700K should put you in the top 10 32M of all time. It seems Skylake is finally becoming a viable Pi platform. Any chance you'll try to make a full freq. run once you have all the ins and outs of B-Die down?
  19. I think your argument here should be with Futuremark. They make whole system benchmarks and they make graphics benchmarks. The graphics benchmarks should rely on CPU as little as possible. I'd be surprised if there is a single game out there that actually performs better on a 5960X than it does on a 6700K. The only thing HWBot could do to somewhat alleviate this would be to rank by Graphics score alone. For the newer benchmarks, this is usually more GPU dependent than CPU dependent, although the CPU does play a factor, i.e. Skylake CPU + GPU having a higher GPU score than Haswell CPU + GPU, echoing real world performance (Skylake + GPU usually has higher FPS than Haswell + GPU).
  20. Wow. Wish I had that kind of cash hanging around.
  21. I'll probably try to fly... but if that won't work... driving it is!
