  1. Picking up the 2x, 3x, 4x GPU globals situation - there are actually quite a few levels of multiway 3D benches, it's not the "2080ti everywhere" or "GPU doesn't matter" split that some people claim: Truly "2.5D" - you just pick the right ancient card and keep it at stock (Aqua, 2001) Light 3D - older cards can do it easily with an ambient overclock ('03, '05, '06) Moderate 3D - have to pick the right card but then it's fast enough at ambient (Heaven Basic, Xtreme) Heavy 3D - May not scale all the way up to 4x 2080ti on LN2 but it definitely needs modern hardware with subambient cooling (FS, Vantage, 11, TS) This is much more nuanced than some people claim but it's still a gross generalisation! Especially for 2x setups the picture changes a lot because '03 for example becomes a heavy 3D bench. Even when talking strictly about 4x, it's not "just 2D" - drivers and LoD and all that good stuff from "real 3D" still applies and this alone makes it different from regular 2D. Just because people don't bench it or understand it properly doesn't mean we should get rid of globals. BTW - globals scale with the number of results so doesn't this supposed problem take care of itself? "It's just 2D'" -> no one benches it -> globals stay low -> not enough pts for people to bench it. Just leave those of us who enjoy it alone! If it's such easy points, why don't more people grab those easy points? Because it's actually not as easy as people claim, that's why.
  2. Is this a crossfire run? FM link suggests this and also I don't think an extra 16 fps vs. other singlecard scores is physically possible. Also, you need a valid screenshot
  3. Top 10 competitions (including team comps) count towards world ranking currently. Not sure what you mean by "member points"? Maybe league ranking? World ranking is the first one to get listed on the homepage and includes everyone in one ranking so it's the most important one imo.
  4. Competition pts already reset after 1 year, but on a rolling basis. Your proposed change would be based on the calendar year so CC points (for example) would expire mere weeks after they've been earned. Not only that, they would also not count towards the main ranking
  5. Yes it makes Titans slightly weaker but the impact of cutting off 20+ of your top HWpts is much higher than slightly gimping Titans. Globals go up to 200+ pts, HWPts cap at 67. When you've got a limited number of slots, which do you shoot for? Globals. Case in point, I don't own any Titans and Slinky has them. I bench old stuff for HWPts, he doesn't. I have a mix of HWPts and globals in my current top 15, he doesn't. He's ranked one spot ahead of me currently but 32 spots (!) ahead on UAT. We both drop an additional 30 spots on top of that so it's not a case of one of us having a better benchmark mix for Rev.8 or anything like that. HWPts generally act as the great equaliser and reducing their contribution to the rankings generally has a much higher impact than any other little tweaks here and there (like combined HWPts + Globals ranking).
  6. - Competitions are already struggling bigtime atm, why devalue them further by only including them in the seasonal ranking? - World rankings are already top-heavy, why make them more so by removing comps and reducing the no. of scores from 55 (15 top + 40 HWpts) to 30? We got polls for the relatively minor stuff but not the really important fundamentals ?
  7. What you said was that you run the same voltage for 20 different benches and expect the chip to survive them all. What I'm saying is that 4K needs less voltage as it is hotter - what's ignorant about that?
  8. Here's a thought: run different voltages for every bench instead of using a one-size-fits-all policy. It will improve your scores and kill less hardware.
  9. This is about the rankings algorithm folks, not the marketplace ?
  10. Superposition is the only realistic candidate if you want to add a true GPU bench - wanna run it on LN2 to see if it really scales as expected on the top end? Top results are on water right now, as we've seen e.g. with FS and Heaven some benches can stop scaling past a certain point. Only supported by the latest generation of one manufacturers so it's years away from being a global bench (if at all).
