The official HWBOT OC Challenge April 2012 thread.
K404 replied to Massman's topic in HWBOT Competitions
Like with the Abit compo, I wish participants didn't have to be part of a team, but there aren't many people in my boat Only just noticed this compo. Sam prodded me. Cynical Kenny wonders if this explains some of the PMs i've had over the last couple days..... I think I know which cards will win.....and with what mods................. I'm out, I don't have any CPUs. edit: Do HWB hope to have the 3DMark06 submission problem fixed so competition scores aren't screwed with? -
I will hold off on the excitement until normal people with normal access are hitting similar clocks. Far too often i've seen "tasters" that don't match the real world
-
Nice work My attempt at 800MHz ended with 788MHz and a dead board I am envious!

But sometimes that is not our fault What if.... it was suddenly very cheap and popular to bench systems with 4x CPU? The boards do not allow any OC, but there is still competition The points are only "wrong" while the category is not-so-popular. There has been talking of setting the points limit to a lower level, maybe HWBot will include in 1 or 2 iterations time -

Happy April Fools everyone

Your reply is too fast bro My scores appear to have "come correct" and Server08 now has a lead of 8-10% for me I don't have any SSD arrays to play with, nor a 58x0 card... so plenty more points to be found Probably need a Sempron 145 to compete anyway, but this is chilled out fun, I like it
-
I tried Server 08 and the problem re-appeared, even with your advice in place If I can sort out this and one other problem, server08 will be giving me the best efficiency out of the O.S. i've tried so far One more to try after this

Change your username? Think of it as similar to renaming aquamark3.exe...... -
Looks like that dealt with it Thanks! I owe you a beer "one of the bars in MTT2 progresses normally, while the other bar hangs until it completes, then the hung bar completes..." That's EXACTLY what I was getting I'm scared that i'm almost beginning to enjoy PCM05 again..... that means £££
-
Yea, the other part of the test is text edit Compatability -> Disable visual themes. Will try that first and see what happens My other PCM05 scores have normal MT Test 2 numbers, maybe it's an architecture thing, just needs rubbed a slightly different way
-
Not the best place to ask.... but i'm gonna go for it anyway I've been kicking my Celeron 352 around in PCM05 and it looks *alright* EXCEPT.... for MT Test 2- Image decompression. The score is in the toilet. Sometimes it looks like it's failed, but I get a score.... a really bad one (<2 MPixels/s) Any ideas?

Maximous - GeForce GTX 580 @ 1150/1250MHz - 42766 marks 3DMark06

Well, your SM3 score is higher than 8 of the top 10 GTX580 scores and they all have a MASSIVE CPU and GPU advantage over you.... -

I've heard that Intel are reluctant to make SB-E look terrible.... which is what we all know full-speed Ivy WILL do... -

Your SM3 score is too high for the MHz. Bugged run? -
Harshest. Meme. EVER!
-
Sam wins this thread. ....and Ebay You bench too much when you want to run tri-SLI, but buy all dead cards to save money and make it "more challenging"
-
Well, one of the problems is that this score: and this one: look like they were ran consecutively (going by the screenshot numbers on the desktop) ...also by the identical MHz and they were submitted by different users
-
Can I ask....... Did you bench 4 cards and get a round of scores.... then switch to another 4 cards and get a second round of scores? The BEST-CASE scenario is that you got all your results mixed up and submitted some of each others results by accident.
-
I save every single .3dr file. Better to have one and not need it
-
Do you have .3dr files that you can submit to FM?
