  1. Well first it depends on what you want to do with your pc. For benchmarking I use manual mode so I have a steady voltage. C-States are power saving states when the cpu is idle. I turn them off on my m8e. Since the bclk is now decoupled from dmi and pcie you can overclock the bclk a lot more and could actually use that instead of multiplier, But for starters I would stick with multiplier. You also didnt mention what cpu you have so this is just very general. But set voltage to manual mode and try 1.25v - 1.3v, set cpu multiplier to around 45 and try maybe cinebench r15 to see if you can pass. If you crash you can try a bit higher voltage, if no crash can try 46 multi. But I am not really sure of your ambient temp and how good your cooling is setup so be careful raising voltage too high and make sure to have a temp monitor open when running cinebench or whatever bench you want to be stable for.
  2. I can understand saying this if the score was not in line or the cpu mhz was too high. But what is wrong with a 4.5ghz 5960x. Perfectly normal for watercooling. That's not really cool to call out someone like that with no proof that they used that container to cheat. he is a really great guy and I really dont think he would ever cheat. It's tough sometimes because you want to try ln2 but maybe cant do it all the time so you just dabble here and there until you are ready to commit to extreme league. So what is your rule, if you have a nice setup, have ln2 containers or have used ln2 before you cant be in the novice league?
  3. ya thanks zero, the benches were picked perfectly for the style of comp. It worked out great.
  4. haha, thanks so much. Im so happy we had a comp like this. I got so many fun nights out of a $30 gpu. I wanted to use the 6100 for cpu to make it cost effective all the way around, but for some reason my Catzilla Loading time was way off with it.
  5. I have been thinking of selling mine soon, I have a 6630mhz 6700k from case king. It did 6700mhz hwbot prime once but last time 6630mhz was the best i did, probably mounting difference. Also has done 6713mhz 3d01 and aqua
  6. nice one, how come you disabled points, couldnt figure out why it wasnt on front page. great score.
  7. Thanks so much, your scores were insane and great efficiency, I'm sure if you had more time you would be first. But either way hopefully we both had a lot of fun. It was so nice to just ignore the cpu and really focus on completely maxing gpu. It was a lot of fun. I also only bought one card so it didnt cost much. The coil was making some freaky noises at 1.65v. I have never killed a gpu, I was so tempted to try it just to see what it's like, and then resurrect with epower. But this is a really nice 2d gpu. Glad it's still alive. My mods were ugly but they worked.
  8. awesome work man, the rankings are in trouble now that your benching cold.
  9. thanks a lot. Thanks a lot also to websmile, moderators, cctf, and zeropluszero for organizing comp. it was so much fun. Some of the most fun I have had benching. I can't wait for the next one.
  10. thanks a lot guys, this run was 1.625v -95c. I was like so shocked it kept going, I probably could have tried a bit more voltage and cold but I did like 10 runs, +13 core everytime and at 5min a piece I just got so tired. The first night I benched I maxed out the oc software at +1000 clock offset and I couldnt get any oc software to go higher. So I was locked to 1946mhz, but after bios edit the card had a higher starting clock and I was able to push more.
  11. man I really took it down to the wire, hope I didnt make any mistakes, still benching now.
  12. Ya that's why I said it might not even matter but just didnt know for sure myself if z270 might benefit us. If that is the case then I would grab a z170 ln2. I would be down for no warranty
  13. I would love one but the previous comments just made me realize how much I have already spent on z170 and pretty much have a board for every scenario. So far I bought 2 m8e's, impact, oc formula, mocf. And still have 1 m8e, impact and mocf. I like the idea of a z270 ln2 board. I would love to pay some money now and have one right when z270 boards drop, that sounds amazing. A nice kaby lake with a brand new z270 ln2. But if kaby lake runs nice on z170 and z170 ln2 is a great board then it might not even matter and could still be a decent long term investment thru kaby lake life. Before skylake the last 2 boards I used were z97 soc force and x99 champion and they were both incredible, still have both, would be nice to bench on a giga board again.
  14. wow so sleek, looks great. My other benches were just to cumbersome, this is exactly what I would want for my bench table. I hope you guys do good with it. It's nice to see products from our community do well.
  15. I have a pretty small room with a pretty big A/C and never come close to 7c in the summer. I dont even think my room goes below 15c.
