Has also taught me a lot about modding. Great cards to start on, everything is so big, haha. still want to give 8800 ultra and 8600 a try

I know it's crazy, but I can't afford a titan x, and I spent all my money on this chip. I have nothing left to bench but older stuff until hopefully 1080 ti but I dont even know how I will afford 8 to 10 core chips. Where in like a weird spot right now. But I love soldering & modding so much, the older cards are filling that gap for me right now. Hopefully we have some decent comps coming. You always do awesome in those. Either way I have so much respect for your benching and efficiency and you definitely deserve #1 also.

ya I know what you mean. Futuremark sent me legit keys maybe like 1.5 years ago but I thought I didnt need them when the free ones were released. I feel so dumb. Hope I can find them tonight

that is really sad. I mean we should really do something about this. I had to tweak so much for that score. I was getting like around 81000 before tweaks. It felt so amazing to get it. I spent like 20L nitrogen Now I'm like totally turned off by all the legacy 3d. How could I spend time running 3dmark 03. Actually 3dmark 06 worked for me with the free key like 3 weeks ago. So that is the only one which has worked. I was getting so into tweaking 3dmark 05, I was getting so excited but now I am really deflated. I spent 2hrs trying to upload the file last night. Also the rules dont mention it anymore. Is there a way we can get url requirement removed for 03, 05 at least. I thought this happened already. Talk about deflating enthusiasm towards our hobby. Man I just remembered they sent me real keys right before they released the free keys. I have been using free because was easier. Oh man I hope I can find them.

wow crazy speed on air, that is a cool looking card. it's crazy because there are already like 7 titan x scores ahead, so now a 1080 wont even be able to reach top 10 soon and that's if yours is the best. txp really killed 1080 and it felt so fast after 1080 released.

ya it is true, I bought a decent chip and thought I would get top scores right away but they were all pretty bad, so I had to spend some time working on tweaking and getting some help to start to get decent scores. When you start to get decent scores and see the scores above you, it really makes you realize what is involved with them and how efficient they really are. You dont realize it as much until you get closer to the top scores. There is so much to learn. "Because your like wait, I am at a better speed but my score is way lower" So it definitely is a combination of a lot of things. I personally think hardware points are awesome. It gives people who dont have a lot of money a chance to compete in the rankings. There are a lot of points you can get with $10-$20 cards and a retail 6600k/6700k. I know that is still not cheap to some people. Also 3d hardware is not like so easy compared to 2d hardware, there is a lot of modding and tweaking involved with 3d hardware points. A lot of work soldering and testing also, but 2d hardware isnt easy either, the competition is tough

really? man im so mad right now. i spent a night benching, forgot to save file. then spent another night benching and saved the file but now cant upload it anywhere. i used the free keys and i cant upload it anywhere, i was so happy with the score and now it's like nothing. also the rules say n/a for url and file so why is it still asking for one. did you save the file and upload from another computer. or upload directly from bench pc?

i would be in for one also, maybe 2 if possible

thanks a lot man. I actually have a pretty brand new ocfm. Been debating what to do with now I have impact. Since you have always been so nice to me would give a nice deal. But has light coat of vas on top and let on bottom with layer of frost king.

ya plus you can downclock the cpu for 05 and 06. I only downclocked to 6.5, but could have went lower. Most of these could probably be taken with $8 gpu and retail 6600k. I have used this same epower for like 5 cards now, and probably could have done with normal volt mod. G92 and G80 are a ton of fun.

i was saving scores fine with 118, 122 is the one i noticed so far for me

"You never go full re tard" haha. Titan X is a little crazy. it was crazy to see such awesome battles with fully pushed ln2 cards beaten so easily with stock/water cooling. I mean so much time and effort was put into a lot of those scores and they were so easily beaten. I understand this is the oc world but there was something a little weird about it to me. It just didnt sit right. Like when XA, Dancop and others were battling for gpupi with really nice pushed cards and then boom, beaten so easily. it was weird. Deflated my enthusiasm a bit. realizing such hard work can be beaten so effortlessly. edit- Wow that was the first time that's ever happened to me, I typed in re tard and it comes out as specialbunny. Also a couple of your points are being addressed. There is an oc esports comp right now for 3d games. Also the new revision is supposed to reduce effect of 742 and boost 3d points/sli points. So it sounds like someone is listening and trying.

Ya we had some really humid days, and I think my fan wasnt pulling the air away enough and I was getting moisture in the memory slots, the air was falling too much on memory area. So I think it was a combo of a few different things. I am not even sure if the new board fixed it or I am doing things a bit better, with no vas, more powerful fan, less humidity with a/c, and more paper towels. If you didnt use vas and didnt get any residue in socket dont even try the contact cleaner, until you need to, at least imo. Try and pull more air away, reduce humidity and try and seal up memory area better. Last night I was benching full pot for 2hrs on m8e without a single issue, I shut the mobo down instead of it shutting down on me, which is what usually ends my sessions lately.

I should have listened to this. But I only had trouble with 122. I was testing a few different versions last night and I got such a sick score with 122, 8300 with 6700k, I got so excited but then I couldnt save the file. I was so mad.

i think my trouble was the vaseline in socket, contact cleaner helped but only for an extra 20min. for you it probably wouldnt help since not using vas. i hate to say this but i got a new board and no more trouble, no sure if coincidence or not. i have been using more paper towels around mem and sealed sides of mem slots with let. are you getting stuck at 55. i also needed more powerful fan for pulling the moisture
