  1. Ehr. I think that was BEFORE we left for the party
  2. http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?t=40742
  3. Only those who feel like a flower will understand this picture
  4. Just had my first good sleep in about a week, feeling like a flower now. It was really nice to meet all the overclockers that attended CeBIT! Thanks all for the hospitality and friendly mood. Also thanks to Gskill for not kicking our asses for hanging out at their booth all week long . I haven't made much pictures myself, but I'm looking forward to all the pics the others made. Do I need to make any FTP space on the HWBOT server so you can upload all the pictures and videos to the server?
  5. FYI, the UD7 is apparently EOL
  6. I need to check my attic. I'm sure I have some (dead) NF7s lying around. And a BH6 too ...
  7. CPU has to be hot, chipset cooling (apparently) helps a little when completely maxing out the board (~ 520+)
  8. That's not the right approach to hit maximum HTT clock
  9. See you then guys. And remember, Gskill is the meeting booth at all times! (hall 17, booth E44)
  10. Say hi to Johan for me then
  11. I'll add them to the opening post as well. The board does indeed look quite nice. A lot more 'professional', I'd say.
  12. Seems like posting performance results of Z77 + Sandy Bridge is now allowed (complete review @ Legit Reviews: http://www.legitreviews.com/article/1868/1/). Here is my first (quick) testing with a new Core i5 2500K: Pictures of the board: Test setup: - Intel Core i5 2500K (thanks Tones) - SF3D Inflection CPU pot - MSI Z77A-GD65 - 2x 2GB GSkill Flare - XFX GeForce 8400GS - Thortech Thunderbolt 1200W - Windows XP SP3 First tests Just did a bunch of quick tests with this mainboard. Only did a very short quick test on air cooling to see how it behaves without subzero temperatures: An untweaked SPI-32M run, just to check for clocks and bios behavior. Not too special, I guess. Subzero results Didn't have any issues that were caused directly by temperature range (ie: coldbugs), but then again I was only at around -20°C or so. The BIOS seems quite okay (a lot better than previous betas) and has the same structure as pretty much all X79/Z68 boards of MSI. Snappy interface, it's good! OC-wise, the board is okay, but not supreme and above all else. BCLK could be pushed to 105MHz quite easily, but above that it seems the configuration isn't going to smoothly (straight to FF, not even attempt to set BCLK). This is with a pre-beta BIOS version, though, so progress can still be made I'm sure. Btw, I was running the highest 1:8 memory divider available on the Sandy Bridge CPU, so DDR3-2240C7, and it was no problem to run it. Currently, I'm trying to get the IGP to actually work in XP, but the screen goes blank everytime I enter the OS, so that'll require some time as well. In any case, this was just a quick test before I'm off to CeBIT this week. I'm looking forward to newer BIOS releases as well as testing some other stuff of this board. Cheers! The award! Oh, right, before I forget. Here's the meaningless marketer bonus award for this product. This award has nothing to do with the quality of the product, but is only to make sure my tests don't negatively affect the yearly bonus of the marketer who send me this board. There's no point scheme or calculation; not at all related to the product! 13. It's on the to-do list.
  14. Congrats Flanker!

  16. Gskill booth, 10AM everyday.
  17. I think they don't really know what users want exactly. Well, everything's better than "level 1-10"
  18. By the way, for those who might not know, Saaya (old-time XS member) will be at CeBIT as well. You'll probably find him at the CoolerMaster booth
  19. Not really. It's just a matter of having BIOS support for your memory kit. This kit did well on F8d, but completely fails on F10 (couldn't get anything to run aside from 'auto' frequency). Swapping out to GTX8 kit pretty much solved most of the memory related issues (DDR3-2400 within a couple of minutes) It has been the case since the absolute beginning. This 'bug' is present on a lot of boards; had it on the GD65 with 100bclk strap, saw it on the Evga boards, seen it on the GBT line-up, also present on the Biostar boards and so on. Zolkorn didn't have the bug on the GD65 when using 1.25x BCLK strap, so that might be worth a try on the giga too. Then again, it was possible to workaround this bug on GD65 too with the PLL override method, but that didn't work on giga.
  20. Switching out my Gskill memory kit for the GTX8 did miracles: DDR3-2400 within 10 seconds and fully stable, LOL. It's a matter of BIOS support, I guess ... Did manage to improve my 2011 Wprime score, LOL
  21. Been testing the F10 bios for the last couple of hours. It's ehrm, ..., not good. Let's just say I'm happy Ivy Bridge will replace X79 in most benchmarks ... Also, can't flash back to the F8d bios now because the BIOS image is outdated. F8d worked sort of okay ... not sure what to do now. //edit: I'm sure Dinos22 will not be happy about this, but I really can't understand this UD7 anymore. Between BIOS releases, there's such a large difference in overclocking capabilities. The board's behavior (debug) is so different as well. Sigh. Well, back to the bios ...
  22. Dafuq is going on with you, Viss. All those golden chips lately If karma is real, none of your Ivy chips will pass 5G
  23. Yeah, the bug has been there for a while. It's been in the backlog for a while, just didn't have the time to fix it yet.
  24. Yup, fine now as well.
