  2. It's a very weird issue. Sometimes you get a different URL, sometimes you get the right URL. :-/
  3. Yeap, one more step taken in the world of OC. You're also mastering the skill of pouring in a slim pot ... goooooood!
  4. Because there's already someone else who used a Wolfdale CPU for the Country Cup: http://hwbot.org/submission/2224123_sky_coolzzz_ucbench_2011_pentium_e6500k_2.93ghz_437_mpt_score
  5. Lol. You guys are paying off the wrong person. He doesn't have REAL power LOL!

  8. I'm not sure if SSSE3 is always the fastest one, tbh. SSSE4 seems just a tad slower than SSSE3 ... maybe it gets a nicer boost when running that one separately ?
  9. The scores in the competition are all v1.58 ?
  10. I don't understand the logic behind the comparison this tweak/trick with lowering the resolution on a 3D benchmark. The SSSE3 benchmark test does not change when you run it separately. When you lower the resolution, you do change the benchmark. As for the performance 'gain' you achieve: you can compare this with the behavior in 3DMark01. When you run, for instance, Nature as first test, the score will be a little bit higher than when you run it as third. The performance increase is not related to the benchmark itself, but due to OS/cache variables.

  12. Validation links are an absolute requirement for this benchmark. As Christian explained it to me, this seems to be a chipset-specific issue. I think Frank (developer of CPU-Z) should be able to fix this quite easily, so I suggested I'll contact him about this issue. But I fear the solution will not arrive before the end of this competition. Other Socket7 boards seem to work fine, though.
  13. The analogy with 3DMark01 is not correct, because all those GTs matter in the score and with UCBench that's not the case. This is more like the CPU tests in 3DMark03/05 or the Feature tests in 3DMark Vantage. If you don't have a key, the CPU tests will be enabled by default in 03/05, but since they don't have any effect on the final score you just press escape before they start. In Vantage, everyone disables the feature tests in the paid version for the same reason: no effect on the score and might cause instability crash. The final score of UCBench only depends on the best method to crack a password and for most CPUs that currently seems to be with the SSSE3 instructions. Disabling all the other tests that don't have an effect on the score anyways is completely legit. The method of calculating (= the benchmark) is the same; you just skip all the parts that don't need to run for the score. For those who want to do it too, just add the following line after the command line in the benchmark application: "-cf=ssse3 test.rar"
  14. ... because you have worked for hwbot full-time in November . As long as you can't dedicate all your time to hwbot, I don't think we can finish ahead of schedule.
  15. Just a small video showing you the only important section of the BIOS: OC options!
  16. Tried. Failed.
  17. 4200CL32. Riiiiiiiight. Problem only occurs with the Intel board, not with any other board. Intel, Y U NO MAKE COMPATIBLE BIOS!
  18. Last board I currently have available is the Intel DX79SI reference board. Usually I am kind of afraid to test Intel boards because of the BIOS and boot procedure. I think I've been scared ever since I tested the Skulltrail mainboard and it took roughly 1 minute to pass the entire boot producere. The BIOS usually is hard to figure out and, in general, changing ANY setting is not advised. This board isn't much different from the previous boards: hard to work with BIOS, difficulties recovering from a failed OC, etc etc. Also, since CPU-Z can't read the correct memory frequency (due to the board), there's simply no point in trying anything with the memory. I have DDR3-2400 running 32M, but what's the point if you can't show it in CPU-Z. Board removed from test bed. It's okay if you don't understand BIOS anyways. Setup - i7 3960X ES - DX79SI (bios 0281) - 4x 2GB Dominator GTX8 - GeForce 8400GS (for now) - Silent Pro M1000 PSU Pictures none Results
  19. Audio service, huh? That's interesting!
  20. Yeap, there are drawbacks to every system. The SR-2 score of KP with 6G Westmere's now gets the points it deserves as does **DP**'s 3Way LN2 score. Others get too much points.
  21. Is reaching #7 infinitely more difficult to achieve? It depends on what hardware you have, right? If I have NickShih's CPU, run 6GHz and get #7 in single GPU ... do I deserve 'infinitely' more points?
  22. Actually, you're much more efficient across the board! Even in the GTs.
