Monstru Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Computex is starting tomorrow, but that does not mean that the goodies didn’t start to show up yet. As the dragon boat festival takes place today in Taiwan, and GIGABYTE’s press conference is ready to take off at the Brown Sugar club, we took a sneak peak at GIGABYTE’s lates motherboard. And guess what – it is built for overclockers, and not just any overclockers but extreme overclockers. Yaaay! BTW, maybe you have noticed that now we have lab501 in English too Computex 2014 - GIGABYTE launches GA-Z97X-SOC Force LN2 Quote
I.nfraR.ed Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) How am I supposed to mount an LN2 cpu pot? Am I the only one who does not get it or is that board suitable for LN2 mem frequency records only where you can just put the cpu pot on top without mounting? If that's the point, why so many PCI-E slots? Who cares about gpus when you're going to break the memory records only? Edited June 2, 2014 by I.nfraR.ed Quote
Hyperhorn Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 (edited) Actually I wonder since a long time why benchtables with on top mounting are not so popular outside Japan as they can pay off if you have to deal with new sockets (with different mounting hole distances) as well. Example picture (uploaded by Gyrock): Edited June 2, 2014 by Hyperhorn Yeeez, so many typos Quote
I.nfraR.ed Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Ah, yes. That makes perfect sense. Didn't think about it... Quote
Christian Ney Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Yeah Dimastech used to sell such a table, Besi had one too, but I don't see much people using it. Quote
Gunslinger Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I've got the same table but don't use the "press" type mounting, always preferred the standard through board mounting. Quote
steponz Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 I'm going to try to make a bracket for this board... Its an interesting concept for sure... Quote
Mikecdm Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 The dimastech designt isn't as good as the japanese design or the one that gyrock uses. The supports on the dimastech cover almost the entire rear I/O. Quote

The supports on the dimastech cover almost the entire rear I/O. yeah.. it traverses the mobo in the opposite direction.. making it cumbersome to use. I have one for my Dimas.. never used it. Quote
Monstru Posted June 10, 2014 Author Posted June 10, 2014 Somehow I think I used the drop down manu for naming this thread and this title appeared. Somebody pls change it, I cannot. Infrared - you use gravity or you can use a japanese top down pressure mounting table. Quote
gubben Posted June 12, 2014 Posted June 12, 2014 Hi Started to build a Benchtable for Aopen YDG with Venom Pot only for TeamCup Yonah PI. A side effect was that it gone fit the Gigabyte board. Have a tread at Thechsweden with pitcures what you think? http://www.techsweden.org/forum/topic/25949-ln2-benchtable/ Quote
