We did not have background last year, and it is not mentioned at rules, so I think it stays same.

Usually you are allowed any chip as long as its socket 478. The motherboard isn't normally the defining factor, the rules are based on the CPU.

Like Rasparthe said, limit is on cpu and videocard, I see no reason why adpaters should not be allowed

Seriously, I think adapters are allowed (because it states 478 COU, not board), but will ask once more before we all spend millions on these and then anger gets big

A ruling would be great, normally they are allowed or at least when it comes to s370 adapters and others, just to make sure its clear.

I already created a task on this question, the main worry for me is that this is in fact not only limited to mobile cpu adapters, there are 775 cpu to 478 adapters for example and also for opposite, and there might be multiple options to use 478 cpus on other boards as well. This might change the intention of old school benching to a material battle with big spending, which was not intended

Mobile CPU's are Socket 479 not 478 so Mobile CPUs shouldn't be allowed.

As for 478 CPUs in other boards I think that would be allowed its the CPU thats specified not the Board.

Big spending isn't the thing its finding and modifying the adaptors to work in the right board thats the trick.

I'm getting this error when trying to upload Aquamark score:

Same error for two different data files. Aquamark wrapper is the latest version 2.55.110

Check if you use a am3 wrapper version that is still up to date, if you think it is a technical issue, send the file with version of wrapper and information about the system and OS to Christian Ney, I see that results already were submitted, so it might be a problem of your confuguration or a temporary issue

NO ES, please, I will ask this again internally, but we normally do not allow engineering samples for competitions apart from pro oc cup, if we allow them it is usally explicitly mentioned

Do you use czech Windows? It could be that the wrapper fails to handle special characters in file names or file path.

Yes, but there are no special chars in path to the Desktop.

Christian Ney suggested to disable system info - which solved the problem. Most likely some kind of incompatibility between my HW and Aquamark.

Rules doesnt say anything about motherboard, just that you need to use a socket 478 CPU, so Im just waiting on a conducting pen to try it out with a adapter atleast
