[INFO] OBT / BC1 in retail channels

Hey guys,

 

Just wanted to share some information about the Streacom BC1 and the OBT Open Benchtable. The BC1 will be in retail by December (I think) and we'll update with links below.

 

The main difference between the OBT and the BC1 is the traveler sleeve and the limited edition engraving. The BC1 is fully compatible with all the OBT mods/tools, so you don't have to worry about that.

Any idea if one of the US retailers will carry it? ie, PPCs? I would love one but the shipping is a bit much.

Based on the site information, Streacom is sold by 7 stores in the US (including Newegg): Where to Buy | Streacom

 

I'd say maybe get in touch to see if they will carry the BC-1?

The price is far better, just a pity you can't get one of the limited edition versions from a local place to avoid the extra shipping and taxes

Maybe it would worth doing a group order of community editions from the UK? That'd save in shipping costs already.

Problem is even before shipping, let alone tax it's more expensive than OCUK will be selling it for

Small update: we're working on finding a solution for Australia. Looks like the BC1 isn't getting to retail as easily as we had hoped.

 

The OBT is completely sold out, but we're planning a new batch. More information soon

Being able to sort by country would be a nice feature, as some of the vendors listed have different websites for different countries, like say, Newegg.... Where it's available on the US side, but not Canadian.

The stock is already back on Openbenchtable.com for the past weeks and shipping worldwide.

If Newegg ordered a refill, that can take up to 3-4months depending on shipments.

A local retailer (Capital Computer Centre) in Hong Kong now sells the BC1 bench table. I do not know if this is a one time off arrangement (ie until inventory runs out) or a long term commitment.

 

I visit the store today and see the store has about a dozen there. All 3 versions (silver, black and red) are available and they all sell at the same price (HK$ 999).

Hello @marcoliu, the OBT Mini that I have bought serves as multi purpose build in my living room eg htpc / living room computer / games.

Love the OBT and the OBT Mini is adorable.

Will post pics for the build in pcpartpicker soon.
