Maxi
Need a section just for this board? What about ASUS? MSI? EVGA? This seems a little silly to me.
Hondacity
its not even retail... i agree with maxi...
Bobnova
I think the idea is that the more publicity the board is given the more likely they are to make more dedicated OC boards.
Hondacity
I think the idea is that the more publicity the board is given the more likely they are to make more dedicated OC boards. Â i didn't see it that way..lol
Massman
Asus, evga and msi can all have a dedicated section as well. They only need to make a dedicated oc board :-)
marmott
I forgot that Gigabyte is the first (and only if I read well) manufacturer to create a board with OC features
knopflerbruce
I dunno, but what about other, OC related stuff? Like afterburner, lightning series, etc. I'd say those things are just as OC related as the gigabyte mobo. A section for Lightning overclocking would be cool, and maybe some afterburner subforum. Maybe that one wont be that active, but it would be a good source of information about releases etc.
Christian Ney
Memory series, there are a lot that aim more overclockers than gamers. AMD Black Editions CPUs Intel K series CPUs (Xtreme series is too expensive to be an overclocking stuff ), Cedar Mills ?
knopflerbruce
Cedar mills aren't "made for overclockers". K-chips, maybe - as they're advertized as being for overclockers. Black Edition... dunno, but I dont really think so.

Hondacity
Subforum exists for gigaboys for this week 3/25/11. Â I wonder if we'll see this board next week. Â Collin said mid-March in the video. Â Just looking at results for 2d/3d for this board. Â ES-CPU's probably sent out with board to gigaboys. Â I wonder if buyers will beat these ES-CPU ran scores, probability says, you guessed it. Â Marketting ES-CPU's are awesome. Â This week is still yours gigaboys
K404
Massman... this board still isn't in retail, how did you buy one a....month? ago?
Massman
I didn't buy it one month ago. I said I was going to buy it.
K404
I'm pretty excited about this board ... so excited I've already decided to go out and buy a retail sample  I mis-interpreted, sorry
Massman
Yes. The decision to 'go out and buy a retail sample' has already been taken in the past. Seems like my shitty English made someone upset. Let's change it to: Â "so excited I've already decided that I will go out and buy a retail sample"
K404
Â "so excited I've already decided that I will go out and buy a retail sample" (when it's available) Â Â

Hondacity
ES-Statement: Â (im guessing) Â Maybe Gigabyte said "shit 2nd Gen P67 Boards are selling like pancakes. We won't make that much money with X58A-OC." Edited March 29, 2011 by Hondacity

Massman
Oh. Dunno, wouldn't make sense not to go through with it now. They don't expect the OC to yield high sales (compared to mainstream) and already put in so much R&D cost in it. Â Not releasing it would just be throwing money out the window. K404
Foxconn Dreadnought and Asus PinoNoir come to mind..... it does happen sometimes, but I don't think the X58A-OC is going to be an example of hyped-> canned
