Massman Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 Do you like the benchmark? What do you hate about it? Quote
BenchZowner Posted June 21, 2010 Posted June 21, 2010 If that's a "getting input on a benchmark we're thinking off adding to the rankings" thread, then, simply, no. It's not suitable for that purpose because of total lack of score validation. Quote
Crew Antinomy Posted June 21, 2010 Crew Posted June 21, 2010 You really gotta cool down. It's a discussion about pro and contra for the moment. As for the validation, I remember the crew trying to contact with Unigine on that one. If many people will say they like it, there will be a reason to contact in order to iron the glitches. The crew is not that dumb, you know Quote

What if the lack of score validation is taken care of? Quote
packet Posted June 22, 2010 Posted June 22, 2010 if it can be done then why not (accurate and validation)....a DX11 Benchie is needed ...both sides have the cards Quote
BenchZowner Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 If you can "force" the developers to do the necessary changes ( additions actually ) which will ensure that: 1) The hardware used will be detected properly ( models and clocks ) 2) The validation system isn't easy to crack like 1-2-3-you're done 3) Forced settings mode, to be sure that everybody runs the bench with the same settings Then go for it. marmott Posted July 24, 2010 Posted July 24, 2010 honnestly I haven't use it but the idea of using another benchmark that FM ones is great Quote
Massman Posted July 24, 2010 Author Posted July 24, 2010 This gonna come with a validation system too? There are some folks testing it at the moment and apparently we kick FM's ass at this moment . Not too much details on the security system. Validation will be through direct online submission or saving of the file. Screenshot included. Quote
Massman Posted July 24, 2010 Author Posted July 24, 2010 When the app is in a better shape. Currently the validation doesn't go through the HWBOT servers, but through a personal site. The different beta's we're using also have different resolutions etc ... it's really only to check up on the high-profile cheat methods. By 'folks' I actually meant 'person' ... it's just that I really like to keep things small and simple at this point. It's easier to manage and work out problems. Frederik is currently setting up the code at HWBOT's end and I suspect that we'll have a first up and running version in one or two weeks. Quote
dafour Posted July 26, 2010 Posted July 26, 2010 What dx version is gonna be used?Or just dx11? Quote
Massman Posted July 26, 2010 Author Posted July 26, 2010 The plan is to go for DX11 only. We'll see how things evolve Quote
Massman Posted July 27, 2010 Author Posted July 27, 2010 Maybe a DX9 version that doesn't get points and a DX11 that gets points? It's possible. Things are moving forward now. The submission routes have now been installed. You can upload a score: - Online, from the application - Offline, by saving a score and uploading the file using the HWBOT online form (no need to install the app on a different system as well) Quote
jmke Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Maybe a DX9 version that doesn't get points and a DX11 that gets points? It's possible. there's enough motivation to allow DX9 version with HWBoints to be used by all the older hardware, benching old hardware has been made popular by HWBot, releasing new benches that exclude old hardware would be, imho, counterproductive and against the goal of "the more the merrier" Quote
Massman Posted July 27, 2010 Author Posted July 27, 2010 We shouldn't be afraid to move forward if we can, though. There are plenty of old-skool benchmarks out there, but none for DX11. Quote
knopflerbruce Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 There are also plenty of benchmarks for newer cards, so that's not really an argument. IMO a DX9 rank should receive boints - there's no reason not to.. Quote
Dualist Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Sorry jkme but I agree with Massman, we need to move on, new benches new hardware. @Knopf there are so many cards that aren't supported by 06 or vantage so why worry about another. Quote

jmke Posted July 27, 2010 Posted July 27, 2010 Sorry jkme but I agree with Massman, we need to move on, new benches new hardware.. If a bench has DX9 capability as well as DX11 support; it would be shortsighted to cut out a large user group, that would be just stupid nothing is said that DX9 and DX11 modes are exclusive. Unigine Heaven DX9 Unigine Heaven DX11 can peacefully co-exist imho. receiving boints for both but hey :celebration: party! either way if Unigine submits directly HWbot, superduperdevelopment, first 3D benchmark ever to do this Quote
