Coldslow and Coldbug VGA BIOS collection
Calathea replied to Massman's topic in General overclocking
Yeah with reported cold slow at -10 and low power limits? Neither of these cards are top choice for overclocking lol. From what I can tell there doesn't exist any cold slow bios for anything else than Lightning and Hawk, so either MSI will help us out til semi finals or.. well... there will be a very crowded ranking with air/h20 among dice and ln2 results. -
x79 extreme11 under singlestage weird coretemp! readout wrong???

Nice setup! That SS seems powerful enough. Contact is good but seems you are using silver paste like mx-2 or something. These thermal pastes is good for air/water but suck badly on sub zero, they harden and don't perform at all. Hopefully this is your problem. Try Ceramique 2 or even better something like gelid extreme. Also maybe slightly less paste would give you better temps but that's not really the big problem. -

Hi Dancop, you seem to be the same user as emertX on XS where I already answered. The normal question is mounting... with evap temps of -48 I would think the problem still lies in contact, because SB-E loads any SS very hard. Maybe using wrong paste? What paste are u using? Also some more details of SS would be nice, I am guessing it's a high performance rotary one cause I doubt a hermetic compressor can stand the load at - degrees. -
I disagree, it has been working good even on ln2. Sub 6m 20 sec on 5GHz too. Ram clocking, yes probably asus or asrock formula is better. thanks, I will try this. Currently I have very clean Xp with no IME or dotnet so have to boot with max clock.

No, you are right.. I should test with Up4 but what the hell, I need it on MPower lol. The 3770k worked just fine, pop 3570k back and still > 1.65 vcore = black screen when IMC is loaded. It can do 5,65 GHz 32m at 1.61 Vcore loaded (-55 C) so it's not a bad cpu really. But if it doesn't scale, what is it worth
-
After some more testing I found out the cpu was to blame. Much above 1.63 Vcore causes the black screen shutdowns. Very weird, but another cpu is ok with 1.70 so this 3570k simply is shit for extreme OC

So 320.14 beta is out. Anybody tried? :-D Yeah I know we probably have to wait longer than that, nevertheless good to hear they have found the problem.
-
Hí Loud. I have similar problem as you, my BBSE is not as stable as on asus or gigabyte and I often have not exact in round or even instant black screen when running 32m. Samsung works ok but still not really good stability. This is my best 5G time so far, but after that - 55 code on boot (wasted at least 5L ln2 trying 32m)

Wow nice 3d chip you've found. With a better card you'd be fighting top 3

I have a hard time believing this... but really, if they fix it it would be wonderful! 300 and newer drivers gives boost in 3dmark 11.

Nice mobo! -
This is old, but bad, news. I have had no luck what so ever with new drivers above 1GHz gpu (999) on GTX560-448. I bet many people will swear about this in MOA B-Class

Solid caps is nice ESR-wise (ripple) but you still need the correct capacity. The ones you've bought are not really suitable, especially the 6,3 V which should be double the size. Sure you can go ahead and re-cap the boards but expect no improvement against fully working electrolytic ones IF you can not mount more caps in parallell to make up for the loss in size per cap.
