  1. I'm sure you tried that, it's just because at the Gigabyte EOC, when benching a GTX560 SOC, we had a massively increased score with HT on (3770K @6260MHz 4C/8T). CPU score went up about 2000 points and the overall score about 500 points if i remember correctly. But I can't tell how this relates to a dual HD7970, as they are far more CPU limited in the Graphics tests and don't need HT there. Just looked at the CPU score and thought wait, how does he get nearly 50k with this?
  2. If you don't have these things... but such a good CPU... i see the sponsors running to be first at your door Seriously, getting near to 8200 with this hardware is really nice and pretty humiliating for the rest of us It's kind of your duty now to beat TaPaKaH with the real shit
  3. Seems so Very interesting indeed. Hope I will be able to LN2 3770Ks on my own soon.
  4. Damn! I somehow made it to walk through every single hall and not to see the interesting things - where the f*ck was the Extreme-OC stand?
  5. No LN2 for me yet... But I hope we can get some from the local university, would be about 0,75€ per litre not including dewar rent etc...
  6. So... are there even reasons for allowing this? I mean sure, you get higher scores, but we before all should know that scores are relative to the used hardware. What's the point if a 8400GT is able to beat a 8800GTX? Except the 8800GTXs are also rebenched and get higher scores, too. In the end we would have the same point structure like now, with the difference that everything seems to be more powerful. And also, what are benchmarks for? - to compare scores with people using the same hardware and check if your PC is running fine. For HWBot, maybe a bit more like "Hahaha look i turned my vGPU to 2,9V" but in the end you would kill all comparability with this step. And on top of this, what do you do if an newer version of this software comes out which is more optimated? Rebench again and again?
  7. Gtx580 LN2'ed seems to be pretty overkill for P4 Wasn't there more in the CPU btw?
  8. After some P4 benching it's obvious that 3D Mark 03 Pro owners really DO have an advantage concerning CPU clock freqs (even though it may be smaller than I thought first). I always pressed Esc in the loading screen of the CPU test to stop the 3D mark, but I got several bluescreens at that point, because the CPU nevertheless seems to be doing the first few calculations of the CPU test before it can stop. This is pretty mean... the 3D tests ran without any problems, and when it's done, it crashes due to unnecessary tests. Especially becuase I was around 20 points below Madshrimps Belgium's submission with my last run and lower freq. Now i have to crack this copy and upload the result on another system with a normal free version...
  9. Same thing happened to me on a 8800GTX, but that was on purpose, i didnt know that it was possible to do this by accident. To remove the IHS of an old P4, I just used a hot air blower and a flat-iron which worked perfetly.
  10. I already was benching on my Pentium D 925... Guess I will just have to grab my 630 or 640 then... Online Verification for 03 is a bit tricky for competition by the way, owners of the pro edition would have an advantage. In the free version, you can't disable neither CPU tests nor Feature tests, meaning that free edition users would be limited earlier by their hardware. This is questionable in the meaning of competition, you aren't getting sponsored by Futuremark yet, are you Massman? // Oh yeah, and as the 03 only uses one core (or doesn't it? not sure actually), I don't see the problem of allowing Pentium 4 'D' CPUs.
