  1. Says the guy who derailed the last comp idea thread with the same joke
  2. I think TC should be in February, don't want it to interfere with the Queen's Birthday
  3. Wow nice, 455 BCLK on SS - did you try higher mult and do you still own this chip?
  4. It's quite hard to maintain low temps without a heater, I prefer fully frozen vs. some ice and some water tbh - less chance to kill something
  5. Did some cold memory messing on both Hypers and PSC on Thuban: I didn't take the CPU cold for the Hypers run as I was running out of LN2 but on PSC I noticed a big IMC degradation from ambient to fullpot - while CPU-NB flies (I passed 5.1 GHz SP1M!), RAM MHz went from 1,100 6-8-6 to more like 1,025 6-8-6. Has anyone else seen this too? BTW, both of these kits are really bad. I would imagine that more is possible on both ICs but what's the point if stability goes down so much at fullpot? ? Maybe 5-7-5 is the answer on PSC. I am waiting for better copper spreaders, bad heat transfer currently doesn't allow me to go as cold as I want to.
  6. What do these BIOSes add, just higher voltage limits? Edit: Max. DRAM voltage increased 1.8 -> 2V, max. Vcore increased 1.85 -> 2.15V is what I've noticed so far
  7. Thanks guys. This was the "easy" one, FM2 and 775 will take much longer for me
  8. I was using an inferno, it's just that this heater only covers the back of the CPU socket and not the memory. Most of the ice buildup you see is from freezing the memory.
  9. Pot calling the kettle black. I read the OP and it doesn't specify if RAM or CPU. I just asked for clarification, you're the one making an issue out of it.
  10. Both TC and CC are still happening but I personally enjoy CC more and wanted to emphasise the anniversary so I made a thread. Feel free to open a TC one
  11. It's not the sub's fault, it's a bug in the HWBot engine that's at fault here. Feel free to report it here...
  12. That is one tall, empty, ugly-ass PCB! ? But at least it doesn't have RGB
  13. I think it is already decided to do this comp earlier in the year, @Leeghoofd to confirm.
  14. Isn't this a bit early for an idea thread for Country Cup? Yes it is, if this was normal year, which it isn't because: 1) there's a plan to run CC a little earlier this year 2) It's the 10th anniversary of this great competition! Why not celebrate it in a special way? Idea #1 Make the competition 10 stages, one picked from each of the last 10 years (with hardware restrictions adjusted where appropriate). This could take the form of a poll or just a discussion thread, I'm not sure which way to go because a poll is democratic but with 10 questions could end up with a low number of votes. What do you think? Here are the stages over the last 10 years (for reference): Idea #2 This is kind of a "stretch goal" version of idea #1. Same deal, still 10 stages from the last 10 years but this time the winning team from each year can pick the stages. I know it could be a lot of work but I think it's kind of a cool way of deciding that is less likely to turn into a never-ending discussion. To make sure that one country doesn't dominate this process I further propose allowing each country only one pick and giving the second place / third place team the pick as appropriate. i.e. the bolded teams in this list get to pick the stage from that particular year: Looking forward to hearing your responses! Thanks to @Bilko for helping to come up with this concept
  15. Not sure if you're still interested after all these years but here's a LCC run on E-die: https://hwbot.org/submission/2691736_dinos22_superpi___32m_core_i7_5960x_5min_55sec_922ms
  16. "A little bit of cold" on the CPU or the RAM (or both)? It's not so clear these days anymore that RAM always stays ambient, with some people like Splave posting good results on cold B-die...
