  1. There's a store here selling the MSI Z87 MPOWER MAX AC board for 180$. Is that because it's a bad board or their just trying to get rid of their stock?
  2. I'm tempted by the board. I might take it if I manage to sell of some of the stuff I have lying around.
  3. Good news I figured out IR's datasheet for the 3563B based on one of their better documented controllers. This is what you should do to get hardware control over Vcore(I have no idea what the IC for the VRAM is): The original image is from techpowerup.com
  4. I wish I could help you but I don't have enough experience to mod badly documented IR PWM chips. You could however try modding the BIOS with RBE7(google it).
  5. Doesn't the BIOS switch enable LN2 mode with high max voltage?
  6. I can't watch it for some reason. Ok I got it working through a proxy
  7. Not enough PSU. A single R9 295X2 pulls up to 500W in Crysis. If you plan to OC them they will get into the 650-800W range per card.
  8. Could some one post some examples of good chillers. I just need something that will keep a pair of R9 290Xs cold.
  9. phase change is a pain to find in my country and I can get the chiller for 500$. I would get a dewar but I'm not sure what would be a good size. The first time I used LN2 I was using a rented 35L dewar and it lasted me 2 sessions of several hours but I was using a 65W Athlon 370K and I'd like to move onto bigger chips like the FX series and the bigger Athlons. I'm considering a 14L Dewar that looks to be reasonably portable(I don't have a car) for 900$ after VAT but 'm not sure if it's big enough for 3-4 hour single CPU/single GPU bench sessions.
  10. I finally have enough to buy a 395W water chiller and everything to be able to run it on my AMD setups(no point on my 3960X those don't scale with cold from what I've seen). However since there isn't a whole lot of info about water chillers out there I was wondering if it wouldn't just be better for me to dump the same amount into buying LN2. Of course if it's possible to run a water chiller full tilt(0C°) 24/7 then I'll get the chiller but if it's only useful for short bench sessions I'd rather go with LN2/more parts.
  11. I think it's nice that there is finally a benchmmark that only cares about GPU power. Gives people with good GPUs and AMD CPUs a chance to get high scores at something.
  12. Is it normal that the VRAM frequency of my R9 290 keeps bouncing up and down from 150 to my 1575 or am I doing something wrong. Also how straining is this for a GPU because this would make a great GPU stability test if it didn't run 15C cooler than Unigine.
  13. How much does this benefit from FP64? Because if FP64 makes a big impact the WR will always belong to compute cards and that's just no fun for most people.
  14. Doing a stress test benchmark would probably work best. But don't make it 24h but 2 to 5h since that is long enough to catch instabilities and will kill chips that people are operating on inadequate cooling with too much voltage. Though I think it would be cool to have a 24h benchmark category similar to the 24 hours le mans race. Because those would be amazing if you just finished more so if you did it with LN2/DICE
  15. Yep people running computers on sub zero ambient water cooling and water chillers are basically the biggest problem for less dedicated people in the enthusiast league. Also competing in benchmarks like Unigine and SuperPi where OS tweaks can make massive differences in scores are also obnoxious for people who want to so see how much better their PC is a gaming and they are going against people with tweaked LODs stripped OSs and overridden settings. Which are obviously not settings people play games with.
  16. Uh my test bench is my 24/7 case. "Street legal" is really hard to define because you can cram phase change and water chillers into regular cases. Going with car analogy though: LN2 - Dragsters Phase change - Formula 1 Water chillers - Rally cars 24/7 Test bench users - Wanna be rally cars Full tower water cooling - super cars Air cooled/AIO PCs in a tower - road cars Also how does a test bench make your system faster? You just have better intake air which can be achieved by simply taking all the panels of a regular case.
  17. R9 285 it is then. I think the best way would be to get someone to try submit an R9 285 score and see if it gets kicked. I tried to do it with a dummy submission but it kept giving errors.
