Mr.Scott Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Blew up my modded Ultra B. Starting fresh with this Infinity Ultra. Basically the same board minus some bling. Quote
ObscureParadox Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Ouch that sucks Scott, what went bang exactly? Was it some fets or the NB like me Quote
Mr.Scott Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 A couple fets and most of the caps. I'll give fixing it a shot but I have little hope. Quote
I.nfraR.ed Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 (edited) Go for 266x9 btw, one of my Ultra-B's can't handle the VDIMM mod and the only difference is that there's no smd capacitor between 2 FETs close to the memory slots. Unfortunately this is the board that does highest FSB without mod. The other 2 boards have it but all of them should do 266 easily. Actually it will be the first time to use one of my Ultra-B's for competitive benchmarking. I've always preferred NF7-S, because I love that board and also have self-modded bioses for it Edited June 9, 2015 by I.nfraR.ed Quote

Mr.Scott Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 (edited) Ok, then 282x8.5 Lol, yeah........280 will be out of reach for me I think. I can run the sticks at 280, but getting a SS without locking up is rare for me up that high. Mid 270's is fine, it's that last 5MHz. Edited June 9, 2015 by Mr.Scott Quote
phobosq Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 It's not you I think, but rather limitation of nForce 2 chipset - even if you manage to run 280+ FSB, I'm afraid it's not really going to be benchable - like single channel, CPC off. Good luck though! Quote
Splave Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 OMG can you use copy wazza for 1m on AMD hahaha Quote
Crew Strunkenbold Posted June 10, 2015 Crew Posted June 10, 2015 266Mhz Dual Channel will be very hard... Are we about to see a new nforce 2 binning challenge? Quote
phobosq Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 @Strunkenbold: I have DFI LP that does 264 dual with 1.8 vnb straight from BIOS, no binning done, it's my second board. IMHO 270+ FSB dual will be excellent. Quote
I.nfraR.ed Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 All my 3 DFI Ultra-B can do at least 268-270MHz DC 1:1. 282 will be hard though. Quote

I have no reason to believe this one won't either. Pretty much thought all of them would with a little work. Maybe I was wrong. I'll give it a go though. Quote

phobosq Posted June 11, 2015 Posted June 11, 2015 AhaThat's why this board has vanished from ebay ? No, it's just hard to find them these days. I bought three last year, one was shipped dead, second died on me. They are like... consumable Quote

ObscureParadox Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Yes. Just like the P4C800's. P4C800's are common as muck on ebay UK, new ones posted every week Quote
ludek Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 No, it's just hard to find them these days. I bought three last year, one was shipped dead, second died on me. One DFI (killed one) is with me. I tried to do some vmods but it just don't wanted to turn on (leds of death flashing or something). Well I have some NF7s And I can buy (at polish "auction portal") Abit AN7... It could be fun, but i'm too lazy now Quote
Mr.Scott Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 P4C800's are common as muck on ebay UK, new ones posted every week You're lucky. IF you see one here, they want a million bucks for it. I've gone through 4 already, and I don't even like 478. Quote

The hell are you doing to them I've used and abused my P4C800-E so many times and it's still working I've even had the NB bare with a makeshift "eraser pot" pouring LN2 on the bare die for a laugh and it still wants to work Quote
