Massman Posted December 27, 2015 Author Posted December 27, 2015 Haswell within reach! Just goes to prove that, just like with any other new memory type launched, first generation ICs is fast enough but later gen is better. Quote

Only took 6 months to get DDR4 worthy enough to get within Haswell's reach Quote
Massman Posted December 27, 2015 Author Posted December 27, 2015 I just re-read my sentence. It does not make any sense at all ... I shouldn't edit parts of a sentence. What I wanted to say is: just like with any other memory type transition, the first gen of the new stuff is slower than the last gen of the old stuff. But from second and third generation, new stuff will beat old stuff. Quote

Administrators websmile Posted December 27, 2015 Administrators Posted December 27, 2015 (edited) If I remember correctly, DDR4 is around for 18 months now on retail non server. And DDR3 was almost instantly faster than DDR2, because it was used on same platform, GTR and such stuff were realeased at same time as X38 chipset. Not sure I can follow your thoughts; Pieter^^ Good job George, seems Samsung B don´t scale big on cold but it can help a bit Edited December 27, 2015 by websmile grammar :o Quote
