Taloken Posted May 6, 2016 Posted May 6, 2016 (edited) Good luck to all teams ! Seems like there is a mandatory wallpaper this time, don't forget it Asking for a bit of clarification on Stages 1 & 2 rules. For Stage 1, it says 3 different Intel CPU, but also "a processor with the Skylake core" on right list. So wrong copy/paste, 3 CPU with 1 Skylake, 3 Skylakes ... ? For Stage 2, same 3 different AMD CPU, and "Use 1 processor(s)" on right. Like, yeah obviously ? or a specific rule ? Edit : Also, scores on Stage 1 and 2 are divided per core or it's full out ? Crew Leeghoofd Posted May 6, 2016 Crew Posted May 6, 2016 (edited) Asking for a bit of clarification on Stages 1 & 2 rules. For Stage 1, it says 3 different Intel CPU, but also "a processor with the Skylake core" on right list. So wrong copy/paste, 3 CPU with 1 Skylake, 3 Skylakes ... ? The way I interpret the stages: Stage 1: 3 different skylake cpus: eg i3 6100, i3 6320, i7 6700K. But not two 6700K scores. Same for AMD Stage 2: FX6100, FX8120, FX9550. It will be an average score based on the 3 scores, so not divided per core. Seems a similar structure as the Country cup based competitions. This requires some extra communication who will do exactly what and how Edited May 6, 2016 by Leeghoofd Quote
Administrators websmile Posted May 6, 2016 Administrators Posted May 6, 2016 Stage 1 - Three different skylake cpus, for example 6600K, 6700K, 6400... Stage 2 - three different AMD cpus, independent of socket Use 1 processor means that multi socket systems are not allowed, and it is full out, no core division OK, I think Ninja Leeghoofd did the job^^ Quote
Taloken Posted May 6, 2016 Author Posted May 6, 2016 Thank you for the clarification ! But a Skylake-only stage, it's very very limiting, it will have a poor participation Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted May 6, 2016 Crew Posted May 6, 2016 (edited) Just to be sure I'm crosschecking with lord Massman, probably partying again after his gym workout... it is only 3 scores... not 7 like with country cup, I think Team Cowcotland and co can pull this off easily Think about mobile and co Edited May 6, 2016 by Leeghoofd Quote
Lochekey Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 (edited) Just my 2 cents but limiting this to just skylake cpus does not seem like a good idea. Just to be clear I do not have a skylake cpu so I am a little bias but even so this will prevent a lot of others from competing as well. Edited May 14, 2016 by Lochekey Quote
mus1mus Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 Wow! This plot seems to take away a Fair Level Playing Ground. Skylake-only-stage will mean ZERO Points for some team.. Quote
Noxinite Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 As the other guys said: a skylake stage will only hurt participation... Quote
Administrators websmile Posted May 7, 2016 Administrators Posted May 7, 2016 I will propose to change this to Intel native four cores or less. If there are objections against this, let me hear Quote
Noxinite Posted May 7, 2016 Posted May 7, 2016 People will complain about no Extreme CPUs, but I think it would be better kept to the mainstream Intel platform - as you have proposed. Quote
Administrators websmile Posted May 7, 2016 Administrators Posted May 7, 2016 Keeping the belance was reason for 1151, but I thought more people have it, so if this is still rare at novice league, no problem to make different limitation. 2011 has its place as well, it is strongest cpu at vantage and will give users a big advantage there Quote
Noxinite Posted May 9, 2016 Posted May 9, 2016 For Stage 1 must three different CPUs each with up to 4 cores be used? Or do all of them have to be quad cores? Quote
TAGG Posted May 14, 2016 Posted May 14, 2016 Please Fix The 1B Stage, I can't compete, because the number of Videocard cores isn't specified. The Submission just crashes if i try to submit! Quote
Massman Posted May 16, 2016 Posted May 16, 2016 @websmile highlighted the issue to me. Should be fixed now Quote
mus1mus Posted May 22, 2016 Posted May 22, 2016 By the way, on Stage 5 3DMark 05. How do we seperate entries for an AMD CPU and GPU? Can we do an FX 8350 + R9 290X as an entry and have another one with an FX 8320 + 290X? Should this be allowed or we should need completely different sets of both GPU and CPU? Quote
12AX7 Posted June 23, 2016 Posted June 23, 2016 I was just wondering...why are the HD5000 series not allowed for AMD Graphics submission? Quote
