September 30, 201113 yr my finding are more like you did, a good chip will boot at 5GHZ on interal pll off. if it needs it above 4800 its a x53 likely cheers! Sergio Yep, same ovservation here, but I've tested only 3 CPUs so far. Two 2600K max 51x and one 2500K max 53x, but hardwalled at 5311.

November 10, 201113 yr I have had 3 2600k and the first was the best 5300mhz. others were 5100 and 5200. Picked up a 2500k and it boots at 56. Still need to test it more. will post batch later.
