Crew Don_Dan Posted September 15 Crew Posted September 15 Now that Team Cup 2024 has ended, it is time to plan the next big thing - Country Cup 2024. Let us know your stage proposals and keep in mind the structure known from previous competitions: CPU GPU Memory Miscellaneous Proposals: WPrime 1024M Single Core Dogpile Quote
exaberries Posted September 15 Posted September 15 cpu stage ideas: cpu profile max, 1155 only geek 4 or 5, amd only, 6 core only, ddr3 / ddr4 / ddr5 ycruncher 10b or 5b by socket gpupi for cpu 100m dual cores only geekbench 3 conroe 4m pifast by socket i3, ddr3 only gpu stage ideas: G92 cloud gate or 06, x58 only 2GB vram max, heaven extreme nvidia 600 series vantage gpu score hd 4000 series 05, quad cores only hd 7000 superposition 1080p memory ideas: zen 1 / + / 2 / 3 32m, 4ghz freq limit pifast by ddr gen (1-5), 4ghz freq limit geek 3 mem score, 1366 only, 4ghz freq limit misc ideas: 3dmark 11 physics, gddr5 only, cpu mem clock cannot be higher than gpu mem clock i'll think of more later Quote
Dry_Ice777 Posted September 16 Posted September 16 Is it possible to add one more stage - old / ancient / dinosaurs stage? We would be happy to work with such platforms as 370 \ 462 \ 754 \ 939 \ 478. As I understand it, soon we will also ask 775 \ 1156 \ 1366 \ AM2+ \ AM3+ to be moved to a separate branch 😅 1 Quote

I honestly don't like Dogpile Stages at all. I cant see the purpose, the usefulness of such stages. Glad to hear what other members think about it. 5 Quote

unityofsaints Posted September 16 Posted September 16 wPrime 1024m singlecores only, AM3 and LGA775 banned. Maybe not a dogpile but 5-10 subs would be nice. Quote

A dogpile stage based on time is not possible in the current competition engine anyway, I think. 😄 Quote
spit051261 Posted September 16 Posted September 16 (edited) It's got to be a spread of ALL benchmarks and platforms (especially GPU's). People will tend to advance the hardware they have very good scores with otherwise. Just saying. I would rather leave it to Albi and the mods . Edited September 16 by spit051261 1 Quote
spit051261 Posted September 16 Posted September 16 (edited) Threadripper PRO 7995WX should go well with that 🙄 Like I said , leave it to Alby. Unless you just want professionals in this comp ? Edited September 16 by spit051261 Quote

I would play with something like low clock by socket/generation in 32M or GB3 with fixed core count and some incentive to pull one of those Socket A dinosaurs out 4 Quote
Mr.Scott Posted September 16 Posted September 16 (edited) Dogpile is a bunch of extra work for nothing. All of those OEM boards and shit have to be entered in the DB, and you'll never see another sub on it again. Waste of time and space. Edited September 16 by Mr.Scott 2 1 Quote
Paul7347 Posted September 16 Posted September 16 I think dogpiles are fun but maybe should be limited to a bit less scores. Aquamark last year was already quite a lot Quote
Sparks.nl Posted September 16 Posted September 16 (edited) PI 1M slowest score contest? No HW limits. Edit: I was thinking of something else. An e core only stage. Edited September 17 by Sparks.nl 1 Quote

Not every dogpile is for BCLK and therefore not every dogpile requires DB work. In fact as far as I know, this was the first BCLK dogpile. Others I remember are Aquamark and x265. Quote

That should allow *any* viable mem config given the IMCs. Edit: perhaps unique mem IC, though that would be pretty difficult to enforce. Edited September 17 by ground Quote
MMR Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Lga 1156 cinebench R15 sum of 5 submissions, no duplicate motherboards/cpu Quote
TASOS Posted September 17 Posted September 17 Please if possible ... not an other monster Country Cup , with numerous stages and 5 results per stage. Lets keep it normal. 2 Quote

Paul7347 Posted September 18 Posted September 18 I would like to see an X299 stage. For obvious bias reasons I can't explicitly ask for y-cruncher but maybe geekbench or 7-zip ? We haven't seen this platform in the last TC and CC 1 Quote
spit051261 Posted September 18 Posted September 18 We are trying to get new people involved in our passion. Why do we insist on using old hardware although it is fun and I enjoy it . New people will not be interested in X299 for instance as well as the other dinosaur platforms mentioned. Our success will count on the future , not the past . 1 Quote

Our success will count on the future , not the past . Because old platforms are cheap, popular and you don’t mind them. Try, experiment, solder something without any fear. Not everyone can afford to overclock and put at risk home platforms that cost as much as 1 or more months' salary. I am not asking you to replace all stages, please note. I suggested simply adding just one category, so that those who cannot afford expensive hardware could give battle to the top benchers) 2 1 Quote
