SoF Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 ...had to smile about one little CPUz-Link yesterday... 6982 MHZ done in "Taiwany" or "Germanistan" Tells us 3 things: 1. Give Suicidephoenix a good chip and he takes it to the max! Great work Jan! 2. CPU-mafia still has some very nice spare-ES! 3. ASRock will soon claim some 7 GHZ on their "NEW OC FORMULA BOARD"... ...just sandbagged a bit longer than ASUS and Gigabyte PS: oh and maybe the board isn't too shabby either Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted July 31, 2012 Crew Posted July 31, 2012 Great work there, good to see the little player getting up against the big boys Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted July 31, 2012 Crew Posted July 31, 2012 That has happened before Chris and it still is happening right now under our nose... it's just the way it goes... in fact if you give a decent overclocker ( so not me ) a pre binned cherry CPU he will do great scores on it To bad you and me are not amongst the happy few that get's them Rock on !! M.Beier Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 (edited) SoF I'll put 100 Euro on Gigabyte and ASUS sending out more ultra-binned CPUs then ASRock.. I am looking forward to trying this board. - I wont get a CPU shipped with the board, I've binned 5 CPUs myself, I got a 3218C021, a bit weaker then my buddy Rosty's... I will bribe him with a burger and beer to try my CPU on his crazy cascade Edited July 31, 2012 by M.Beier Quote
TaPaKaH Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 ASRock have crap availability and no decent OC compatibility or support. Without that, showing cherry results will not move them any forward. Quote
K404 Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 Phoenix is in the pro league, so I don't really mind. It's kinda the point of the Pro league Send good board + good BIOS with good CPU to good bencher who won't try to pretend they bought it on Ebay "with luck"...... it's all good! Quote

sin0822 Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 IMO you need at least 7.00000GHz before you can claim 7G, asus did it and gb did it. GB even waited until they found a 7g CPU before stating it, even tho they had 6.9XXX Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted July 31, 2012 Crew Posted July 31, 2012 damn thats a nice chip... For once I agree with Splave ( I must be getting old and weak lol ). Jan is in the pro league, pretty normal Chris they get handpicked stuff or some sort of sponsorship... Now the reviewers and me want them boards to test. If you read this Nick, I'm still awaiting that whole bunch of ASRock Z77 boards... Quote

Its odd, in my dictionary that would be 'claimed' Quote
xxbassplayerxx Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 Yeah give it to him - I take everything that can do 1.9V without killing a CPU Also I miss testing different boards and it is hard to get EVGA boards atm Does anyone want EVGA boards anymore? Quote
M.Beier Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Think this thread deserves to get back on first place ¨ ID = 2509190 wink wink Quote
