steponz
I was only looking at 5870's.. whoops.. good catch... Still I think Road Runner with his retail should be able to do that... Just needs LN2...

BenchZowner
Is it legit ? I for one can't trust OPB & coolaler anymore. Â p.s. You do know that you can make an E.S. show up as a retail chip, don't ya Edited March 31, 2010 by BenchZowner
Monstru
You can? How?
BenchZowner
Why would I ever want to show people how to cheat CPU-z and other programs to show their ES as retail ? I will never ever use or share a cheat or any kind of """""tweak"""""" that can be used to exploit benchmarks/overclocking.
Massman
If nobody manages to get a retail 980X ( on his own, not by somebody who knows someone who knows someone whose cousin works for Intel ) that benches Pi1M at 6.3-6.4GHz then I think we might have to exclude the ESs.  p.s. You do know that you can make an E.S. show up as a retail chip, don't ya  How does this compute? How can you suggest to remove ES if there's a way to not show ES ... BenchZowner
Well, we all know who has benched at what freqs with Q3FEs & Q3QPs Plus most of the well known at least benchers with those ESs don't do such things.
Massman
You're right, 'trust' and 'being in the know' have been proven to be rocksolid tools for detecting frauds.
BenchZowner
Come on man, you're better than misunderstanding what I say. I'm talking about the very few worthy people in the scene. I wouldn't mention any names because I'd have to mention all of them, but as an example, I can guarantee you that SF3D would never publish a score obtained with an ES processor as if it was obtained with a retail CPU. Massman
And you certainly know better than stating we can rely on 'knowledge' and 'trust' to take down frauds. There have been a number of examples where people 'trusted' and 'knew' someone wouldn't ruin the game and it happened anyway.

Crew Antinomy Posted March 31, 2010 Crew Share Posted March 31, 2010 Knowing how to use a CPU-Z bug makes full price only if you're going to cheat and half of the price if not. What really is in price - knowledge about how to trace out the fraud result and even more - close a bug. Might be not so easy as I'm figuring now. steponz
If there is a hack of some sort, please pm it to Mass, to keep it out of the public eye. Â So if the plan is to remove ES scores.. how are you going to judge the 3D scores without the validation screenshot? Â When somemore people start getting retail 980x's this whole crying about es's will go away.
BenchZowner
If there is a hack of some sort, please pm it to Mass, to keep it out of the public eye. Â Not that I don't trust massman, but why should I show a "hack" to another person. There are several ways to make an ES look like a retail CPU in every program. Â So if the plan is to remove ES scores.. how are you going to judge the 3D scores without the validation screenshot? Â First of all, if it was my decision to make, I would make having an online validation/score link ( ORB compare URL ) MANDATORY for every entry, not just the top 20. Â Both validations and screenshots can be fiddled with and "cooked" to show whatever a clever ( I said clever, not smart and ethic ) person wants to. Â When somemore people start getting retail 980x's this whole crying about es's will go away. Â Yeah, the crazy retail I tried today was awesome and I stopped crying... 5790MHz max SuperPi 1M... coldbug at -156C... great CPU
Kal-EL
I think orb links and screenies should be mandatory for all submissions as well.
Monstru
ORB links for SuperPI or WPrime???
BenchZowner
ORB links for SuperPI or WPrime???  Sure, why not  I was talking about the programs with a validation feature.  Although, that's a great idea. We should create new versions of the benchmarks and have an online validation system integrated
knopflerbruce
If you can store 500 results in each benchmark with the free version, then it could be OK to always ask for a link. If not, then it's pretty useless - as they will be deleted fast. And nothing is more annoying than verification links that don't work
BenchZowner
We spend hundreds of dollars in hardware, why can't we spend 50$ in software that we run over and over again ?
Massman
Ask Microsoft
steponz
Why would you ask Microsoft? Â Bench... The coldbugs even on the Q3FE's are quite a pain especially with HT turned off.. I started out with a coldbug at -120 and with setting I have raised it to -150.. but now I am pretty much stuck... for 3D its a lot different... but the same as yours so far.. Â I think when you find a combo you will be surprised.
steponz
Also I agree all of the 3D's should have screenshots with orb link....
Monstru
How many published links can you have per FM benchmark on ORB, if you have free or basic 3DM licence? I am asking because I have Advance/Pro licence, but still the number is limited if I remember corectly.
BenchZowner
Non-PRO users can save unlimited projects, but have only 1 published per 3D Mark.
