HOT Finals Rules

- The only hardware allowed is the one provided on the day.

- Contestants are expected to bring their overclocking gear (CPU and memory pots,

thermometers, voltmeter, flasks, insulation...).

- Contestants have one only spare for each motherboard, memory kit and processor.

- Blow torches are not allowed in the venue.

- No bios change is allowed (all the motherboards will have the same bios).

- No USB drives are allowed except the one provided on the day.

- Any tool can be added if all 5 contestants agree on it during the preparation time.

List of benchmarks:

- Max memory clock (Maximus 6 Impact + HyperX 2933MHz MFR chips).

- SuperPi 32M (Maximus 6 Extreme + HyperX 2666MHz Samsung chips).

- Intel XTU (Maximus 6 Extreme + HyperX 2666MHz Samsung chips).

Point system:

- In case of a draw in a benchmark the first submitted score wins.

- In case of a draw for the total score the best memory frequency wins, then the best SuperPi

32M.

 

Schedule:

8:30am Doors open for contestant arrival

9:00am-12:00pm Hardware distribution and Setup Preparation

12:00pm Doors open to guests

12:30pm Opening Ceremony

1:00pm-2:30pm Max Memory Frequency Benchmark

2:30pm-3:00pm Break

3:00pm-5:00pm SuperPi 32m Benchmark

5:00pm-6:30pm Intel XTU Benchmark

7:00pm Awards Ceremony

 

General rules:

- Only the 5 winners of the online contest are allowed to take part, no exterior help

(contestants can of course speak between themselves but everything needs to stay fairplay).

- Contestants can bring friends and relatives to the contest venue.

- The rules can be modified until the day of the event, all contestants would then be

informed.

 

Preparation time:

- Contestants are free to do anything they want during this time slot, liquid nitrogen will be

available.

- Any hardware broken during this time slot will not be replaced

Contest time:

- Contestants can submit new results at any time during the benchmark dedicated time.

- Once reviewed the score is entered in the scoreboard.

- If a benchmark run is started right before the end of the benchmark time slot, the result will

be valid.

- The organization has the right to ask a contestant to re-run a benchmark to verify results.

 

Max memory clock specific rules:

- The result must be validated on http://valid.canardpc.com/. Photos and screenshots are not

acceptable.

 

SuperPi 32M specific rules:

- The result must be validated by a screenshot with the official wallpaper.

- Then screenshot must contain the following windows:

o SuperPi 32M result.

o Full calculation detail.

o Visible checksum.

o CPU-Z CPU tab.

o CPU-Z Memory tab.

o CPU-Z Motherboard tab.

- A screenshot is required, no pictures.

 

Intel XTU specific contest rules:

- The result must be validated by a screenshot with the official wallpaper.

- A validation file need to be generated (method here:

http://forum.hwbot.org/showthread.php?t=82702).

- The screenshot must contain the following windows:

o Intel XTU result.

o CPU-Z CPU tab

o CPU-Z Memory tab.

o CPU-Z Motherboard tab.

- A screenshot is required, no pictures.
