  2. Not much to say right now. I tried hard, but couldn't resist picking up an Athlon X4 845 Excavator chip to play SuperPI 32M with. Two weeks ago I went to the Guang Hua local computer market and saw it priced for ~ 2000 TWD. Next thing I remember was walking outside with a plastic back and a CPU. I just installed the system and might do some testing this weekend. If you're upgrading from Trinity, Richland or Kaveri don't forget to FIRST flash the BIOS to the latest version! Excavator is a new architecture and it seems that without BIOS flash the board simply won't boot. Just a heads up ... ... now, has anyone tried a PCIe SSD to get around the BCLK frequency wall?

  3. Started by ozzie,

i tried my 7870K on ln2 yesterday for the first time, useless as an ashtray on a motor bike, didnt matter what temperature, it went to windows then locked up, it did no better than ice water, i have read others have had issues with the same APUS with the steamroller architecture in the Godavari core as well, has anyone found a work around from it, there are others that have achieved a nice 5600 mhz down to 5 gig, so im thinking they have a good chip to get above 5 gig, seems the Kaveri core is a different cup of tea altogether, thoughts please ?

Good morning hwbot it is possible to have a list with bios tools etc. for fm2+ motherboards? specially interested in asrock extreme and crossblade

  5. Started by Massman,

http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Jaguar/AMD-Athlon%205370.html If it clocks as "well" as the 5350, maybe we can break the 16 minute barrier in SuperPI 32M? [hwbot=2705512]submission[/hwbot]

  7. Started by Gorod,

Hi guys , if anyose still playing with Kaveri , lets share 3DMark runs ?! Also please suggest the best drivers and operating system for maximum efficiency and maybe some tools other than amdmsrtweaker to improve the scores , would be much appreciated !

  8. Started by buildzoid,

So I got myself a 7870K and on my A88X-PRO the Vcore stays white up to 1.6V it's pink from 1.675V and red from 1.725V. So do Godavari chips handle higher voltages than Kaveri or is my motherboard just being dumb?

  9. Started by buildzoid,

I managed to fry memory channel B on my 750K by using too high VDIMM(1.85V). I need to know if Kaveri has the same low memory voltage tolerance or will it be OK for about 100 hours at 1.85 VDIMM?

  10. Started by flanker,

So gonna for some OC test...and few interestings. This is not full version of review, but most of them is here now. SOme clock to clock comparison, win7 vs win8.1, more OC and HSA tests will be in official review next month. First we talking about autooc. Asus give me 4200 MHz and 960 MHz at iGPU part. This is not bad. Nice things for beginners and people scared from BIOS settings . 3D Mark11 AIDA GPU test wprime 1.55 Max stable OC for CPU and iGPU In AMD Overdrive stability test I got 4544 MHz and 104x MHz at iGPU part R7. For CPU I needed decent 1.455 V in BIOS and 1.315 V for APUNB (iGPU). Im sue, 4600 MHz is possible, but with very hig…

Just messing around. OC isn't going too smoothly so far, tested two boards. 50% performance increase though! System - 7850K Kaveri - A88XN-Wifi - Vengeance 2666C10 Samsung Some system pics:
