  1. Good stuff steve, I'm falling behind, need to figure out some of these tweaks.
  2. I'm more interested in text edit tweak
  3. and finally someone decides to beat my score. Good job, theres still lots of tweaks we need to learn. I haven' seen any activity in x3, was thinking everyone had forgotten it exists.
  4. i've seen a lot of good "tweaking" lately, but this is best of them all. AWESOME
  5. Thanks, I had completely forgot about the competition until i was almost done. At that point i wasn't about to run all the benches over again in order to use the correct wall paper.
  6. Think the onboard works well with sata3 ssd, not sure about an acard. Virus scan is usually where my scores are low, but this sempron is tough. It varies a lot and is more difficult to get a consistent xp startup. I'll have to give it another shot one of these days.
  7. had to get the cpu to cooperate and a fresh install, was able to improve score some.
  8. Maybe there are more scores now because you can get globals for every cpu class, by cores. I just recently got into pcmark, having only ran it once on an ssd about a year ago. El gappo was always talking about it and I finally decided to actually put some effort into it. It's also nice that the majority of the popular tweaks are out in the open now. Once a new tweak is discovered, it's shared almost right away. A lot of people are also scoring pretty well with just a pair of ssd, granted they're typically 120gb + models. The nice thing is that there are several ways to go with, when it comes to storage, that can all generate a good score. IMO, disclosing all the tweaks being out in the open kind of make it a level playing field. It once again comes down to clocks and storage. Recently we've seen people pushing their setups more and more and not just getting away with have a fancy storage setup. Every few days, gold medals change hands.
  9. I've seen a few people mention a new league. IMO, we already have enough leagues. Why would we need to keep a separate database for potentially invalid scores. Either we accept it or we don't. It should be plain and simple. I think massman said it before. The rules are made and we adapt to them. Thats the nature of competition. I don't like it, I think it throws of results and rankings. Not that ivy wouldn't increase all scores already, but this makes it to where lesser hardware can easily beat better hardware on old submissions. Generally, the scores per ranking go up, but globals aren't totally obliterated by lesser cards. Not until everyone has rebenched everything, will things balance out. I think it's an aid we can live without. Then again, it's much easier to allow and not have to police it. Top scores would easily be noticed, especially right off the bat when you see 49pt submissions everyday. Matter of fact, everything on the homepage would be 49pt submissions and or high pt globals. Then there are the lesser scores that might go under the radar.
  10. Stuff like that should be automatic ban. They could have at least tried to change the back ground color
  11. One big difference is that the software tweaks in pcmark can be used on every platform, and only affect one bench. MVP can only be used on certain platform and will render those that cannot use MVP, useless. But then again, the same can be said for every platform that isn't intels latest and greatest. Who actually benches 3d on amd . I think you make a valid point here. The turning the standings around thing is a useless argument. Every new platform does this. Some benches can stand the test of time, some can't. Maybe it's to cater to the masses? Not that many people play PCmark compared to 3d. Just about anyone can participate in the 3d benches and fair well in the rankings. For PCmark, if you don't have a dedicated storage set up, you just aren't going to do well. What if we see it as similar to Physx for vantage. It wasn't permitted because the red cards couldn't do it. Well, from what I know, which isn't much about MVP, not every platform can do it. At least with the PCmark tweaks, everyone has a fair shot, regardless of what cpu or motherboard you have. With MVP, only those with the necessary hardware will be able to heavily skew the results.
  12. Thanks, first few runs were within 100pts. It took me several hours to finally beat the score. Sadly, cpu didn't want to clock as high as the last time.
  13. Yet we can disable tesselation on amd cards and not on nvidia. Talk about level playing fields...
  14. Thanks, but an easy score to beat as we've seen. Cpu is terrible, don't think it'll do very well against other competitors once they get "real" scores in.
  15. This bench was run at default. Everything in 3d06 is default, ccc settings are default, and no other tweaks used. I'd be running stock clocks if you wanted any more default. I can look at my score and several of the other 26k scores and not much is different.
  16. very nice score, no doubt it will be much higher the next time around.
  17. Thanks, so close yet so far from 1st. I'm sure we'll see better scores soon from the other competitors. The 7970 usually scores higher in 3d pixel shader, about 6500 or so. If you look at my gpu-z it's running at 8x, due to the raid card occupying the 2nd slot on my gene-z.
  18. I don't know what you're talking about. It doesn't look any different to me than any of the other 26k scores.
  19. Don't think i'm going to be able to come close on this one. Well deserved win.
  20. Looks good gappo @stevero, i'm pretty sure ES stuff and pro is only relevant to current gen hardware.
