  1. My opinion this pro cup is that it has the potential to be very cool for the outsider or from the view of those who aren't participating. Potential meaning that if everyone were up for it and were going to be all in then it could succeed. I'm not sure how you guys will like it and it seems that as of now most don't. Right now I could really careless what goes on in the pro league. I see big scores come in all the time, but most are just slightly edging out the last score and it's always the same stuff with highly binned stuff. These big scores come at random times. Like the last couple of days team AU. got together and put up some nice scores that deserve recognition. The cool thing was that it was a team effort and they all did it. What I think is pretty cool about the cup is that it has the potential to let the pros work with stuff that they aren't used to. Not the greatest and the fastest, but still relevant and new hardware. Just like recently, those who have participated in the trinity challenges. I'm pretty sure Splave was trying this out as was Xtremeaddict and a few more who i cant remember off the top off my head. Things like that are more interesting to me than seeing the same stuff over and over. The downside is that since it's a 3 month contest we'll see lots of sandbagging. Possibly very few updates. If the Pros are not be up for it, then it's a big fail. Then there are those who really don't care about Ln2 clocks. Best hardware or not, they like clocks on ambient cooling. I see that a lot on some forums, where someone posts a link to a new WR and there are countless pages of people crying about this not being practical, or they want to see 8ghz with all cores not just 1. If the idea is to spark new life or to grab the attention of the outside world, then some of those people might not care either way. Maybe there is more to this than to just $park new life.
  2. I tried with 5870 and had similar 7xx nature. Don't think clocks are the issue here. Overall score was lower than with the 580. Will have to do more testing.
  3. Nope, only used a few times and doesn't work anymore.
  4. too bad mine didn't want to work the last time that i tried it
  5. Limiting clocks is a terrible idea. There is no way to prove that someone did in fact run the bench at those speeds. Eventually, everyone will be "masters of efficiency."
  6. Good stuff, but I gotta ask, What are you using for VS? It seems I'm way behind in this area.
  7. Just that VS looked a lot lower in those than what you've been subbin lately.
  8. Interesting results. Were these tests not done with the 1882ix?
  9. congrats, but you should have let me enjoy 1st for a little longer
  10. Nice score, surprising how your 10 ssd get half the vs scores of mr. moose, who runs a similar set up.
  11. The truth is that he enjoys benching. He has access to this server stuff and uses it because he can. He also benches 775 stuff on ln2, which does nothing for him as far as league standings, but he still enjoys it. He's in pro league because the rules forced it upon him.
  12. i think the chip has a lot more in it, just need to spend the time to get more fsb out of this board. The ram though, i was running over 1.8v, but didn't help. Spent most the time 7-7-6-18 1900+, but that limited cpu clocks and score was much lower. Was getting same score at 4.1 as 4.4.
  13. You know there are collectors around here who have about 10 of each. I only have a pair of 8800 ultras.
  14. thanks, not sure why web page is so low. Didn't even realize it. Probably just been too long. Was 40+ on my 920.
  15. I think that a lot of people were already showing the text file in their subs, along with links for top 20 and even mentioning storage. It was common practice among most, for a while. Showing the text file should be standard in the requirements for a screen shot in pcm05.
  16. If you know AMD raid expert is wrong, why do you continue to submit scores with it? Just because massman once said it was OK? Currently, everything is under speculation and you've been saying it since the team cup that you don't agree with it. How about having some principles and run the bench according to what you feel is right, instead of following the heard. I don't have many recent submissions myself, but I deleted the ones that I could find using flash2desktops. I know that running software that makes the screen turn black during a test is not a legitimate score. From what I've seen, we still don't have a final decision on F2D, but I decided to remove them, while most of us are removing our scores and trying to salvage what integrity we have left.
