  1. It was one of the best parts of the night. When I was submitting I noticed gpu-z showing stock mem clocks. I wonder if I forgot to set them or if it didn't show right in gpu-z.
  2. Thanks, but no memory on cold for me . I was taking it easy, so i ran something safe. I did 1500 afterwards but couldn't beat my score. After I was done realized I should try 3D, so did 03 and am3 with pcm05 setup still running. It was a blast, thanks for hosting the event aaron.
  3. thanks guys. Moose, i've been having issues with TW on this board for a few days now. When i did the amd stuff, i tried this setup and only managed 63k, TW was all over the place. When I did this install at home, i got around 48k TW on air at 5ghz. Thats whats been hurting my score the most. You know this bench is a balance of getting everything to work right, and it was enough for a score, but not everything was working right.
  4. I can't believe that you reported my scores. I think a good majority of your scores are questionable at best, but I have never reported one because I believe or would hope that we all have integrity and run the bench within the rules. I just hope that it's a tweak you know that I don't and that's why you score higher than I do in a lot of the subtests. Matter of fact, you sound like a little girl whining. Just because people doubt your scores and have staff check them, that means everyone should be subject to the same actions? "My Scores have been checked, so please check this score too;) Virus Scan and Transp. Windows have to explain to staff^^) "
  5. good looking stuff with the exception of the obvious . But whats that thin black tube looking thing with a hex head at the bottom of the picture?
  6. Since there is no purple, the choice is difficult indeed.
  7. Trinity stage seems fun. Too bad I don't have a board or cpu to use here . Good luck to those participating.
  8. It's possible to be top 10, but not as easy as you make it seem. Unless you are getting top 3 or so in most those benches, you'll be averaging in the mid 20pts per bench. Eventually you'll plateau and be stuck. The only way to move up from there is by getting top 3 scores. I know this because this is where I'm at. A lot of the gpu that I've benched were with sandy and I haven't had the chance to bench as many with ivy. Your example of 03 is a poor example. You chose the one bench were cpu clocks aren't as big of an influence. In just about every other bench, cpu clocks will dominate. You can see this by new golds being posted daily with cards on stock cooling. Granted there are exceptions here and there, but a good majority are done with stock cooled cards. The 3 people that you have mentioned are good examples of knowing how to work the points system. Stevero is up their by racking up a ton of globals and hw points in pcmark which required a several thousand dollar storage setup. Knut has skyrocketed in the rankings because of the high dollar server set up he purchased. Those two aren't using ordinary hardware, but know how the system works. Tapakah on the other hand, he owns like every single 775 gold which probably required the most work out of these 3 people to accomplish. I did all the 775 stuff when i first started, I don't really enjoy it as much anymore. I don't really like grinding the old stuff any more. The points motivate me and influences what I bench, but I still like benching. If I had to choose between benching a 7970 and a 4850, the points might be what determines what I bench, but in the end i'm still benching something that I enjoy and still having fun. Plain and simple, a points and ranking structure motivates people. One can say it's about the fun, but if we find a multitude of the aspects of benching fun, then it comes down to points and rankings or competitions which in turn are rankings.
  9. Since i've been used as an example, I'm wondering how this pro-cup is going to make once again be excited to see top results from the best in the world. IMO, it's basically just grouping the best guys into small teams. I'm not saying it's a bad idea or that I don't like it, but as of now, I see it as being the same thing with a slight twist. I check HWBOT everyday, along with other forums and keep track of whats going on for the most part. I see big scores, sometimes I look further into them and sometimes I don't. Over time one gets accustomed to seeing things and it's not as impressive as before. It's nothing against anyone, but I feel that the hardware makes it easy too. I see a lot of results where cards are run on stock cooling, but still take easy golds just because of a very fast cpu. Can someone really be impressed by that where it seems all they did was clock a proven cpu very high and thats it. On the other hand, some results take a lot of work and a lot of tweaking to get those results. A lot of trial and error goes into a score. Some of that hard work gets over shadowed by the hardware facilitating things. Back to the topic, today I logged on and noticed an Overclockers Pro OC team. I thought it was pretty cool to see them in second place. Granted there aren't many other teams, but that chance that they might do well is inspiring. Imagine them coming in second place after this is all said and done. We've seen their names before, but I don't think i've seen them compete at that same level as vince or splave. I think if more teams got on board, it could have potential to spark more interest and make it exciting. If we have superstar teams, it might be some of the same old stuff as before. But if the talent pool is mixed up and we have starts in several teams, that could make for an interesting competition. All that it takes is for a few big names to join and then others might follow. As of now it looks like Vince tried to motivate some people, splave has been all for it and together with ney, they want to win. I'd like to see some of the other talented Pro's give them a run for their money. Posting big scores from the get go and having 2-3 months to beat them is a sure fire way to spark some nice competition.
  10. I never upload anything until i'm done,
  11. You are right, XOL shouldn't vote unless they too want to participate in Pro Cup or go pro. I personally have no issue with pro's coming down to XOL. How can I say i'm ranked #x in the world when there are people in pro league who would be high ranked. There could even be people in enthusiast league that are high ranked, but since there are 3 three leagues, i don't know. Even if they were unbiased XOL members voting, who are we to say what the pros should do. They are not here to entertain us. Many and I would hope that most bench because the want to. They have their motivation and reasons, but I'm not one who should be judging. I for one, commend them for standing up and not joining Pro OC if it something that they do not want to do or do not agree with. They shouldn't be forced if they don't want to. Unfortunately, it seems that they have no options, its either join or not be ranked. I'd personally continue to post scores and bench what i want. Fuck the rankings, WR will still be WR and golds will still be golds. They will still show up on the front page and people will still praise or acknowledge their accomplishments.
  12. Where can i get one of them Assrocker jackets. I want one autographed by Mr NickShih himself.
  13. Seems like someone missed something in the rules and you're trying to justify it by picking random text from the introduction. If that is the case, then both first and second place should each win a 7970 lightning and Z77-GD80 "the top two challengers using a MSI Z77 MPOWER for the competition with the highest scores will each win great items such as a MSI R7970 Lightning Boost Edition graphics card and a Z77A-GD80 motherboard" But we all know thats not what the prize scheme is because it clearly states below what the prizes are for first and second. In the same manner, the stage page and submission page make no mention of gpu brand, only motherboard brand. LIMITATIONS Only use motherboard manufacturered by MSI. Use 1 videocard core(s) in total. A verification screenshot is required. A verification link is required. Please attach a picture of your overclocking rig. Only use motherboards using Z77 chipset. Must use competition background: link GeForce GTX Titan not allowed
  14. Currently none of the new 3dmark benches are awarded any points. If you click on the benchmarks link on the main site page, you can see which benches are awarded points and what type of points. http://hwbot.org/benchmarks
  15. Thanks, was good fun. I don't think I have ever spent this much time with 01. The last hour was nerve wrecking. When I saw that last backup I thought you had me for sure. Congrats to others as well for making this interesting.
  16. Thanks, too bad I couldn't do this with cpu at higher clocks. The cpu was getting killed by physics and card was being stubborn.
  17. Have you tried disabling ULPS? I use Team AU's ULPS tool, it works great. Have had no issues since and the reference card can only run those clocks, other card runs faster. http://hwbot.org/forum/showthread.php?p=216077
