  1. I know, it is doing my head in, I'll await the Bios replacement Chip and see what gives. The Gene board is fine with 3201 Post code with one dimm is usually 6F, with two dimms 6A. Tried all four slots, 3 pairs of mems and three cpus...
  2. Which CPU ? with 6700K all is fine, 2 x 7700K and 1 x 7600K Kaby lake unleash hell here... no matter the memory I use... I ordered a new Bios chip
  3. I have a 4133 kit inbound, mmm recalling all my B-die are still of the first generation... Though can't get anything to properly boot XMP on my board (with 6700 and 7700K), will see if reflashing cures anything...
  4. Flashed the Maximus VIII extreme with 3201 bios... main issue with my setup is I lost total XMP support. Loading XMP always results in hardlocking board, no matter the memory I plugged in (tried 8GB 3333HyperX, 8Gb 3466C16 Gskill, 16GB 3600C17 Gskill) This can't be good for daily users can it... Flashed back to 2202 to get Command Rate 1T working with the B-Die set, as I failed miserably with 3201 over 3733 memory divider. Resulted after a few sucesful boots into the OS in a lovely postcode 00... First Bios chip is toast. Swapped both chips and nr 2 works fine, this also in the first Bios socket. Either I'm very unlucky as I experienced similar memory compatibility issues with the Gene board. And/or my 3 B-Die kits are all craptastic with Kaby Lake CPUs and Biosses. Don't forget the user might be getting too old for this stuff asI might beoverlooking something for clocking the memory. Though XMP should work, right?
  5. Welcome back master Chewbacca. At least it will be something totally new to play with...and perf/price might be amasing

  7. Way back in 2009 I met lord Massman and Pt1t at the Gigabyte 2009 qualifiers... Battling it out with the I7 920 CPUs versus Stummerwinter and Spllman Tom Cruise way before he joined Scientology The magic Besi box of the Swiss Cheese team Fear the German wrath or just his knife
  8. Don't think it will work mate.. you will be limited to the turbo multiplier (45)
  9. Mobo used, cooling, delidded or not and plz add a valid screenshot for verification, thank you Latest google doc to be find here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/16KxS63ka2cnht2HYbjXVtx9hcqc-ZhRatDBD2x8Up7k/edit?usp=sharing
  10. Put some tissue too in the dimm slots mate and stuff it any open spot with it liek one would stuff a thanksgiving turkey. Also make sure the foam on the back matches the edges of the motherboard, maybe not abad idea to put some tissue paper between the motherboard and the foam. I prefer a vaseline layer or liquid tape over eraser gum any day, as cold will spread more rapidly over the PWM area. Make sure the LN2 vapours don't drop down on the board, so use some fans to create some airflow. If ever you start running into random shutdowns, don't insist. Just power-off and check for condensation... Have fun!!!
  11. I have everything in the excell sheet, need rights to edit the first post
  12. The rules state: (HWBOT Geekbench 4 - Single-Core Benchmark Validation Regulations) Allowed Windows versions : All Windows based released before Windows 8. Only Sky Lake and Kaby Lake cpus have no issue with the RTC bug that older CPU generations can have when using Win8 or newer
  13. Short sessions is no problem at 1.45-1.5Vcore. If your cooling can handle it of course. Though at a certain moment the voltage MHz scaling will stop and more Vcore might lead to more instability
