  1. Someone pretends they can out-troll Christian Ney? lol
  2. Vivi, if you're with PSC on air it's best to aim for 1250 8-11-8 at ~1.85 and use very tight subs (LB5 or so if you're on ASUS). Good PSC like your PNY will run 32M at 1333+ 8-12-8 on air but such freqs are useless as you can't run them tight. @Albrecht - my entire BBSE collection consists of one 2133C8 kit which is worse than yours. websmile has three, someone needs to rob him while at CP in Berlin
  3. what ICs are those Patriots, by the way?
  4. These mems are more of a marketing statement than a useful product. New GTX will be the same, you can rip your ass binning Samsung, but you won't be able to beat decent BBSE.
  5. pffft ... overwriting with a sticker is way too ASUS-style
  6. I see hwbot has started using external storage for screenshots. Sample score: http://hwbot.org/submission/2305543 Sample screenshot link: http://d1ebmxcfh8bf9c.cloudfront.net/u25250/image_id_825120.x-png ... not a hwbot.org/* link like it used to be in the past. Because of this I can't actually view the screenshots in the browser, can only save them on my hard drive, which is a bit uncomfortable.
  7. I think that 1600 7-7-7 models of Geil are BBSE rather than PSC. You can check that out by looking on the side of ICs - BBSE have white stripes while PSC don't (A3G-P PSC also have stripes, but they're too bad for such spec). With DDR3-2133 on Sandy Bridge, PSC run best on 7-10-7-27, BBSE at 7-9-7-24. Start with 1.8Vmem, 1.10Vccio, 1.15Vccsa and Auto subs and work your way down. There are also presets in the BIOS.
  8. you can go 790FX or try a Giga 990X/FX if you're looking for efficiency
  9. To be sure, try changing your nickname to 'Leeghoofd' and see if that gets any reaction.
  10. wooow Massman's captain, you sure have a long e-thermos
  11. now that you have an Ivy I think it's time to kiss some of my 3D cups goodbye
  12. ryba and Massman are everywhere, lol
  13. Samsung just isn't better. Running 1333 9-12-12+ requires a very good (therefore expensive) kit and a very good IMC. Same money+IMC applied to PSC/BBSE will easily get you 1250 8-11-8 / 8-10-7 and beat Samsung. Once CPU goes cold high mem clocks become even more difficult to run and game is over for 4Gb stuff. The main reason why people use Samsung over PSC/BBSE is that they can buy it brand new or get a free presskit.
  14. ASRock have crap availability and no decent OC compatibility or support. Without that, showing cherry results will not move them any forward.
  15. isn't this hardware sharing with Hicookie?
  16. fyi, law of large numbers does not work for CPU binning as you're looking for the best sample rather than the average. Either way, since we (=mortals) are working with a small sample size, no decent statistical analysis can ever be possible.
  17. hidden resolution is enough to have it blocked, I guess
  18. isn't the eVGA power thingy actually made for such cases?
  19. So you can't criticise a memory maker for flashing DDR3-2400 rated memory with SPD/XMP that set subs so tight that they can't possibly work? (the case with recent Kingston mems)
  20. I had enough of Intel's ES Ivies to claim the opposite - their are not superior to retails.
  21. 3217-3219 Costa Ricas my best 3570K did 1395 suicide (boots 2666 but doesn't boot 2800/2933), 1380 32M and 1333+ memtestThe chip Christian Ney sent me does 1475 suicide (boots 2666/2800/2933), does 1400 32M may be one time out of five and HCI memtest at 1333 gives me a BSOD. Not board's or memory's fault, tested with multiple. Either way, unless you're a mem reviewer or like making those Hynix/Samsung 1400MHz+ e-peen threads, you don't need a CPU that does more than 1350 (for BBSE and PSC).
