As we are now finally moving on from Skylake I'd like to see a "bye bye Skylake" stage one sub per generation 6th - 11th gen. Ideally something fun that really shows the singlecore IPC differences like Pifast or SP1M but SP32M would fit the bill as well imo.

We already have chips with weird core configurations in the database: some consumers even got refunds because FX was marketed as 8c. On that platform you can't even clock every core individually, a surefire sign they're not really individual cores, right? Still we call them 8c. The same should happen with Alder Lake imo. It's a new microarchitecture on a new process, they will score fine vs. Skylake-X 16c.

BIOS 10c. It's hard to know on cold if it's going to POST or just cycling. With 4G+ CPU-NB selected it does E1 -> C1 -> 02 -> E1 -> E4 -> C1 etc. for quite a while. It was getting late in the session and I wasn't sure the sticks would pass 32M anyway even if booted so I let it be. Also only CAS latency is selectable down to 4 in BIOS, the other ones only go down to 5, would need to set those in-O.S. I guess. Next session will be outside of this competition so Ballistix will be available to use so should be much easier.

Not selectable in BIOS on this board, one more reason to run Lanparty next time

Yeah 4th I've tried. Was just a quick bin, 1M run is a bonus. Really easy chip to clock, 8G valid @ only 2.05V and easily got some loops out in 32M @ 7.9. Needless to say the other chips are going on ebay ? Next session CB / 32M / GPUpi should all fall, wPrime / Frequency / Pifast and 1M may be out of reach though lol.
