  1. regarding paste we spread it on the die. As for the glue we spread it all around the edges of the IHS.
  2. as mentioned before we didnt mount pot that tight cause we did not want cpu to bend; it should work I guess, but we wanted to avoid the risk. We used Gelid on both die and IHS after sealing it.

Just a note; we tried Gelid, Grizzly and other pastes from Mx2 to JunPus, and we would get the cracking issue every single time (we dont tight the screws to avoid bending the cpu) between -140 C and - 165 C as Phil wrote. Glue-ing the IHS back to the PCB seems to help reducing the mounting pressure that used to go all through the paste - which should cause the cracking issue.

  13. yeah, cache OS to RAM. Only way is having a PCI-e usb controller with Windows XP Support
  14. thats true, winsetupfromusb is probably the best tool. Saved my life more than once. Thing with xp is that there aren't official Intel USB drivers for xp.

  17. this method WORKS but you will NOT be able to use any usb devices other than keyboard and mouse (no massive storage, etc).
