I do question the guest team choices, but not out of explicit disrespect to any of them. This isnt just because the UK isnt involved so "boo-hoo not fair" wheres Germany and France? Are the Greek and Finnish markets really bigger? (genuine question, im not sniping) If you're focussing on the developed markets, isnt that just preaching to the converted?

Can team members be replaced mid-season if they arent performing or cant devote the necessary time due to unexpected family problems etc?

Fingers crossed for ya idea (not tested yet) this gets worse from 933MHz. -

I was back at the testing today and I managed to get the RAM down to 1 channel in some situations. If its reproducable on demand.. and for my situation im fairly happy that I can-, would that not suggest an instability or limitation rather than degredation? Not tried under cold. -

Neither of my kits are Elpida CAS 6 appears to be a fantasy. -

Corsair Dom 3GB and Crucial Tracer 6GB (2 days old) 920 C0 CPU. At the mo I think its a sign of instability, not impending death... but im still fairly new to I7. Im typically running 1.44vQPI and either 1.65 or 1.75vDIMM. -

Damn! the thread was on here, not XS. I've posted something on XS, I believe its happening to me as well http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?p=3835661#post3835661 Thanks Tom for the nudge is diagnosis. I was blaming lowgap -
If its a ghosted OS, please ignore my comments about a shared base system, with my apologies
-
I do consider your example to be different. This is the same base system, with different CPUs plugged in. Its not so much a software tweak as a software setup shared. Its not the same as telling someone "try this"... its already been done for them- they dont even need to understand the tweak or even how to apply it. Thats hypothetical of course, benching LN2 at that level suggests the person has an excellent idea what they're doing. Andre- just saw your post did you pre-load your OS ghost with CPU-Z, Pifast.bat, SPi etc? Is the same icon placement just the result of OS install and how the OS would place the icons by default?
-
Even if its not an illegal act, isnt this example really close to the line of whats considered acceptable or not? Same board, OS and tweaks- what if one classified board was used around 5-6 guys? They would all get better results that they would otherwise, like using a golden GPU etc. Im not sure what to think about this. Its not gentlemanly and feels like people are taking advantage of whats considered legal in the wrong way

Make the submission process as hard as ya like to make sure results are solid Theres a massive community here who are largely happy to help out...if ya need more mods just post on the forum

Multi-CPU CPUs have different names, I think it can be done. Obviously, similar to multi-GPU Vs single 2,3,4 are lumped in together it wouldnt be possible to try and class a 4-way system in a 2-way leaderboard for example. CPU-Z will deal with 90%+ of naming screwups. Same rules as always- if it looks dodgy, someone will report it and the score can be analysed.
-
Please can we split off multi-CPU results into their own leaderboard? I've asked before and I still think its a valid idea

Is Windows 7 now allowed for 3DMark03?
K404 replied to K404's topic in Submission & member moderation
No idea, i've not tried W7 yet. Probably not though? -
We have probably all seen the large boost Windows 7 gives in 3DMark 03. For a while, I was under the impression submissions in '03 with windows 7 werent allowed. Has that changed? an 8800GT would gain a good 7K....every leaderboard will be drastically changed.

Err.... as title really. If two different cards are used together, how should the result be submitted to HWB? Im guessing that it should be entered as a multi-GPU score in the category of the more powerful card? What if the cards are a CF/ CF-X of low-end current gen and high-end of last-gen, Or... if the cards performance is fairly similar? K

A photo of the monitor mid run would help deter casual cheats, as suggested earlier. The iteration times would have to match the screeny so cheating would be harder.

1st place, no point Pc Mark 04 Sempron SI40
K404 replied to Sirus's topic in Submission & member moderation
Points arent awarded to PCMark04 any more. K -
Technically that rules out SPi though? As for speed...the slower the better. We need marathons as well as sprints for benching. SPi 1M is the first bench tried under LN2, lets be honest. We need bigger challenges not smaller ones.
-
That wasnt meant to sound like im showing off. I just never appreciated the volume of competition for the category.
-
When you put it like that, Im really lucky to be ranked top 20 for the Q66 in SPi32M, wP 1024 and 32 as well as PCM05
-
Q66 is a submissions monster- easily most popular category on HWB

I know i've asked about this before but please can we discuss it again? Its possible to have 300+++ points without having a single top 5 result (no silverware) and its also possible to have 50++ gold cups without having hardware master status. There is obviously a crossover but they are noticeably different disciplines to some extent. I think it would be fair to award all the titles that someone has achived. Some guys have hundreds of top 5 results and some have hundreds of golds! To me that deserves a title of some kind, but most of them come under the blanket of hardware master, which although IS good, doesn't tell the full story. Any opinions? K

Ideally the 9800GTX and GTX+ are on different tech nodes, same as 9800GT Vs 8800GT but some + cards are shipped with older cores. I've yet to have a 9800GT with a 55nm core....

Heres one for you...you've spent a lot of time with the 7900GS, GT, 7950GT PCBs? Have you had a lot of trouble with vGDDR? I've killed 7 cards (6 instantly) from attempting above stock voltages on the RAM. 3 cards did alright- same PCB design. Its been the bane of my benching life.
