i didnt know that barbo, i dont know about the others ive never used them, but always thought vaso wasnt conductive, that cans my theory then, -
Mobo bootloop after vaseline insulation
ozzie replied to unityofsaints's topic in Extreme overclocking
it is non conductive, ive never had a problem with it ever, i use vaso on my foam pads always and it does leak into the socket but never caused a boot loop prob ,and have filled the socket with vaso prior to the foam pads used now, from what ive found boot loop is cpu socket condensation , bad ram, gpu issue, or motherboard issue, im guessin theres condensation somewhere, maybe a cpu not seated and making contact properly, this sort of thing is a trial and error , put it in the sun for a week, with remove the battery and clr cmos jumper on then retry it is what id try , -
Mobo bootloop after vaseline insulation
ozzie replied to unityofsaints's topic in Extreme overclocking
ive had vaseline in the socket as well, but never had it stop it from booting, ive even put vaseline in the socket once with no booting issues, and being in australia you know the issue we have with colder temps aginst the ambient temp and the condensation that happens at times, maybe there was some condensation from the dice still lying around stopping it from booting, i use methylated spirits as is disipates moisture and dries pretty quickly and soft bristle brush to clean it off, it takes a little time but does dilute the vaseline and im careful to brush the pins if its an intel socket the way the pins lie as in some intel sockets they change their lie direction, once i can see the metho stay its clear appearance i use a heat gun to dry or it can be left in the direct sun for a few days to make sure its completely dry, i do the same method if no vaseline if i get condensation anywhere, now i use closed foam insulation pads cut to size for the socket and outer socket area and rarely have a condensation issue -
EP45T-Extreme will not boot with wolfdales
ozzie replied to ObscureParadox's topic in General hardware discussion
im actually having the same issue in my 45Textreme now with a E8400 Wolfdale, i took it out of the P35T-DQ6 (working perfectly) coz i could only get 570 bus from it in it, and to try in the extreme and same deal, no boot, havent tried a conroe tho yet Lewis, and i know the 45 T extreme board worked last bench and the cpu is supported for the board, either the board has developed an issue, or the cpu has died is all i can think of tried 3 different cpus, same reaction, unplugged the 8 pin power supply to the board and i get LED lights and the card spins up, plugged i get nothing so theres a short somewhere, so the board has a problem somewhere, probably the vrm area, theyre weak board, when they go they go ok, they arent as strong as made out to be, this is the 2nd of these boards ive had and ill never buy one of these again, i found my problem, hope yours isnt the same lewis, looks to me that somehow its blown the top right and bottom left corners off the NB chip, oh well , another one gone -
just a thought, have you tried 1 stick at a time, see if theres any conflict, if 1 will do the speed and the other doesnt want to but will go at a lower speed, but not the same speed together, if so maybe you found a problem with a ram stick, you know what youre doing, just a suggestion noxi

the team cup is just what it says, "a team event", if it is 1 player from a team then it isnt a team event, its 1 member from any particular team, its not a team participation spread over the team and a team participation is the whole idea of the TEAMS CUP competition in my view and how i percieve its meaning, the teams cup requires strategy, cunning, communication and tenacity for the "team" to become the winning team or place getters, along with good hardware and good software installation and useage imo

The line between ambient water and chilled/cold
ozzie replied to Elkim's topic in League Discussions
i dont give 2 jacks arse about the devils A, your opinion doesnt change the rules, bot makes the rules not you, and ive been in -40c , and no i dont thank christ, you can keep it all to yourselves but youre saying do i really live in -20c lol, get with it bloke, i really live in 20c to 45c every year lol -

well mate its as simple as this, in 1 post you dont understand, the next you get my case, i suggest you get a lesson in english then...pretty easy , all youre doing is stirring a pot and you know it, pretty childish really !!!! -

and ill add this too, too many whingers on here , tired of reading about on here about cpu voltages, why is his higher or lower ,each cpu has its own voltage it likes or dislikes, no matter what cooling, you blokes make me laugh, you expect 1 cpu to be the same as the other lol, to perform the same way, it dont happen that way, are you the same as another person >> ? do you like heat or cold ? do you perform better in what temps ?? cold or hot ? ill bet my arse colder everytime, for such supposedly experienced overclockers ? , seems to me you miss the whole shebang of it. ...voltage causes heat and without the cooling to compensate youre up shit creek without a paddle -
The line between ambient water and chilled/cold
ozzie replied to Elkim's topic in League Discussions
as far as im concerned the problem lies with BOT and their caterogisation of the term in which the cooling is cooling, called, used etc, take custom for example, to me that means anything that isnt standard and is modified from the standard, take a car for eg, if its a custom car, that means it can be anything from the standard design, and i take that meaning for water cooling the same, BOT has made a rod for its own back in this catergory / terminology, what ever you want to call it -

you may not get my point but its pretty bloody clear to me, but 1 thing im not gunna do is get into a back and forward slingin match over it, i get your point tho, theres 2 reasons for the air to be on, 1 for comfort and 2 to help lower the condensation level from chilled water and ambient air temp, as i said theres no way i could get the room to 16c if i left the air on for 24 hrs b4 benching, the air has been on now here for 3-4 hours ,set at 16c but its still 28c in the house as i type, you get me ??? if you wanna be nitty picky about it the water that comes out of your taps over there is probably 5c to start with for eg, now is that chilled ?? or ambient lol -

ozzie replied to Elkim's topic in League Discussions
take australia for eg, where i am, right now its 28c in here and its autumn or fall as you guys call it, summer can and is quite often here from 35c to mid 40c, i bench with chilled and plain water, i have air too, my AC setting goes to 16c but it never gets there, even with it set at 16c, the ambient around it is too high, the best ive ever got from the air on is 22c ambient in the room, to a lot of people 22c is a normal living temp, so if the room is at 22c the water is at 22c, to me thats ambient room temp , more often than not im benching in 28-30c ambient for most of the year, even in winter where the temp may get to say 12c on a cold day outside the ambient inside is around 15 to 17c and once you start benching the cpu will raise the water temp anyway , chilled its colder yes, but depending on the bench, cpu and voltages is the temp you're gunna get for your water, chilled or otherwise -
haha small condom lol, good onya mate for passing on great deals , well done !!!

Right michael , thankyou !

and also michael, it was decided last time that a pic of the memory was mandatory for the sub, is this still the case for this comp in the memory frequency section ?

Old School is Best School Season 3 Round 3 Discussion
ozzie replied to NoMS's topic in HWBOT Competitions
this is like you cant use any other card than a geforce 7 series in the last round for RB, when it clearly does not say you cant use any other card, and using the "can be coupled with a geforce 7 series card" as the answer for an excuse for it is a poor excuse, it does not say in the limitation that no other card can not be used, for icestorm it clearly stated a geforce 7 series card to be used, therefore a submission for the RBENCH with another card of any kind is legitimite and a legal submission and SHOULD be allowed this changing cards for the matrox is the same princple same as some intel cpu costs, if you cant buy the hardware then dont go on a whinge complaining about it and dont go in the competitions..its that simple ....the section stated any matrox card for this section, what about the people that have already spent the money and bought the card , already spent hours testing, modding, whatever with it...what do they do with it now ???, sell it ??? where, the stall down the street ? or smash it with a bloody hammer
