usually I wanted to write "I don't get it" just because of the title but there is too much win inside to not ROFL

Overclocking is about making screenshots of most likely CPUz, several popular but partly old-fashioned and cpu-bound 3D Marks, a nice new graphics demo for DX9 and DX11 called Unigine and some SuperPi with numbers (which are so called "results" or "benchmark-scores"). @CN lol epic!

now that is how to work around that "cpu fan missing" message

I am working on an "easy" mod - should be finished within the next 4 weeks ^^ €dit: gave up on modding and bought 2 of thoose: http://www.ebay.de/itm/MSI-SLI-Bridge-GIGABITE-ATI-Brucke-flexibel-140mm-/200676089388?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_77&hash=item2eb93a1e2c

we had no idea when we found it in his tool-box. searched some old things from myself but couldn't find any at all. maybe it was from 5870 or MIIIE?

Hey, this week-end wasn't exactly what you call "a good day in benching" for me but as I read about people and their degraded chips it could be worse ^^ shared pain is half the pain, so here we go with more things round about the "we'll let the user beta-testing that"... 1. 525€ 3930K C2 CPU comes BOXED with no stock cooler Well it is not unknown but wasn't made big news either - there have been news about Intel maybe coming with watercooling (and a sidenote it wasn't going to be included)... but when I finally got my self-payed-long-awaited C2 in a little box I was kinda negatively surprised a bit. seriously: in amounts like Intel could make it a simple single "out-of-the-box" watercooling solution for the first runs with your new high-end-bench-cpu would cost like what?? 35€ maybe - 25€ if you make it at Foxconn without having the rule of "workers must have a toilet"? (which I would NOT support and buy tray instead) That in addition to a 500€+ CPU should be possible, no?! specially if your old pushpins don't work anymore Ended up with a "solution" like that which might be more dangerous RMA-wise... my singlestage mounting wouldn't fit also anymore - I love new plattforms :ws: 2. 3x ASUS Matrix Platinum + RIVE - can't "reach" that?! 1700€ hardware and one "little" design-fail...0,5cm can sometimes be so important There is NO fitting bridge in the boxes - I searched for it many times... Oh dear can't wait for April...

SB-E 3930K/3960X Batch and Serial Numbers
SoF replied to Massman's topic in Sandy Bridge-E / Ivy Bridge (X79) OC
I hate overclocking... Waited for so long to get my own retail and then getting a piece of sh1t like this... -
Not sure why but I am not that enthusiastic about setting up new windowses, change from 1155 and all these things today - can I hire somebody to prepare X79 bench system for me??? you may take some single card 580 results with you - have enough cards to share a bit

1.5V running wprime fine at that speed - seems they did fine on the vrm's... it isn't too hard to make a decent board these days for maxing sandy-gen cpus. the cheapest and most expensive boards of any mfc mostly have a difference of less than 50MHZ in raw clock. main issue sometimes is ram-capability and some special must have settings (01 tweak, subzero/12x fix etc)

SB-E 3930K/3960X Batch and Serial Numbers
SoF replied to Massman's topic in Sandy Bridge-E / Ivy Bridge (X79) OC
thanks! :ws: if my CPU walls at 5 gig I will be sorry to tell 5.2 an allday setting hopefully the packet arrives tomorrow, if not I will have a very boring week-end -
Not sure about Intel, I think it only works with 5700+ CPUs on Watercooling with 1.6V+ and temperature between 23.25 to 38.11°C depending on your CPU. I am too stupid for that as somehow my CPUs won't work on my cascade which is the only cooling method I own - I am afraid to damage my hardware with water Oh and sorry to hear about your loss - should have told you it stresses HDD a lot...

Yeah I also have 3 copies always. never forget the "copy-screen-waazaa CDTWTFZOMG" to get the most out of your backups. The good guy I am here is the detailed explanation, if you don't know it yet: - save the original screenshot on the bench-hdd - should look like this: - copy it instantly and rename into copy1.jpg (must be done on the desktop) - copy original.jpg to USB stick (directly in main root directory e.g. f:\) - cut and paste copy1.jpg to USB stick (directly in main root directory e.g. f:\) - now your score will improve quite remarkable now the difficult part for the last boost: - copy copy1.jpg in the same folder and rename it into copy2.jpg - take all 3 files cut them (not copy!) and copy them onto your c:\ directory of your laptop or allday-system attention: this part is very dangerous because if it fails during that time you will loose everything - COPY back everything from there to your USB stick when you have done this you are almost save - now copy only copy2.jpg into your c:\ and replace the existing file - if you have done everything right your copy2.jpg on c:\ will look like this, while the last file onto the usb stick is still looking like copy1.jpg (so make sure to save it again) :nana:

SB-E 3930K/3960X Batch and Serial Numbers
SoF replied to Massman's topic in Sandy Bridge-E / Ivy Bridge (X79) OC
dude please remove the image-tags, thoose huge images don't even fit my 27'' monitor and makes this side totally confusing. stepping, batches and max multi are the main focus of this topic, not some 24/7 screens you did during lunch -
I know about that issue - I looked for some good old full copper coolers and ended up with the legendary SLK900U...I was very happy when I found it hidden in some corner of my benchroom. That one can really take the cold, specially with a nice delta on it - and NO f(l)ucking hashpipe
-
electricity included?! wow I don't want to be the guy that pays your electricity bill, even if you would double up the rent Also benching on 15m² is insane - I had 30m² (incl. kitchen and bathroom) back in hannover-days and felt like not beeing able to breath sometimes with much much less hardware in my room. As soon as I had the money I went into 70m²+ to really feel good. Nowadays I have 80m²+ with my GF and the benchroom is upstairs in a separated room / floor... ...maybe I am getting old but ~8 years ago I felt it was cool beeing surrounded by hardware all the time, sleeping right next to my Prometia Mach I cooled 3200+ Venice which was folding all the time... Today I am often happy to close the door behind me, go downstairs to my gf, sit down on the couch and give all you nerds a byebye for some hours

I think people have to decide wether they use "pre-benched" hardware to make sure they get a good one and submit scores or try to handle things on their own, even that means to go through like 10-20 8800 GT/S to finally find one with good ram, low mem-cb and other issues... ...even if you have pre-benched hardware you still have to put some work into it to really get the most out of it. Personally I am not a fan of that - could have done it many times before...never did...I can't, it's against everything I ever lived for in the benching world. Remember 975X-days....just drive 600km to stummerwinter, put some cards in his system and be Top10 just to say "haha AwardFabrik has 2 people in TOP10"...or we could have done that on GC or Cebit...actually we never even thought about that, we focused on benching together for him and I could always say "I was part of it, I was there"...enough fame for a blindbrain like me pussy

March would surprise me - usually we get the distribution-sales-nda at work like 4-6 weeks before and I didn't saw that popping up in my company emails yet... -
...you think about hiring somebody to upload your scores... ...you have more hardware on the desk than friends on facebook... ...you are not sure anymore how many SandyB1tches you have binned... ...you beat Andre Yang in Pro-OC league on a saturday afternoon... ...you feel like hwbot-moderators are your friends ...you have Christian Ney in your hwbot-forum-friendlist :celebration:

Honestly I am tired of writing / talking about rankings, points and all that. So I will just say to what I agree from first page: +1 Shows the "point-balance" very good. Even I have 2x 580 GTX here, I will not go sky high with just a third or fourth one on X79... If you see it that way it was a triangle before and never will be a circle as much as everybody wants it to be... To become #1 you first of all need MONSTER CPU...everything else will come itself...ever remarked that the one on top usually also has the best CPU(s)? And considering the choices you have you need max 2 cards to make your way on top (01, AM3, 05, 06 - all CPU-bound, 03 needs 3 cards...) well said - the rules have been changed over and over again...time to get some kinda "stability" in there.

Hope we will see some chips with CB(B) at -90 or lower - sounds like cascade might be a good choice for some CPUs... -

With a ratio of "1x 57 in 7" you are in much better shape than a lot people I know who binned "old" Sandy...I didn't catched one in around 20 chips It seems your chance finding a good chip is higher when you pick one batch and work through it. My best quote for good chips also was when having a bunch of same serial / batch where I hit 3/5 with 55x...but you can be a bit unlucky if a batch "hardwalls" around a certain point as general quality isn't at the sweet spot... -

what does "cold issues" do mean in detail in this case? how low in temp can you go now? -
