flanker Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 (edited) Guys, are u remember at your first LN2 overclocking? There will be many oldschool guys and I would like to see some shared things, photos, funny stuffs etc propably 2010 year I found few photos of my second LN2 experience. I was there with few friends from Czech hardware forum, no one of us had experience with LN2 OC and we had also 3 daily "highend" computers cooled by aircooling. It was fun, bad I did so many mistakes... At isolation setup, at fans (In reality it was intake airflow directly to the board , no outtake airflow) First experience with coldbug (WTF is it, I thought that time, very bad control of CB issues) But overall, it was fun and I saw in my hands few 6 GHz runs at Phenom II and crazy scores with 980X also. der8auer Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 I think my first time with LN2 was during an Awardfabrik session which I think was around 2007/2008. No_Name (Michael) was a great guy and a good teacher My first LN2 rig with my first LN2 container. I'm not sure but I think it was E4300 and 8800 GTS in SLI Quote
Strong Island Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 (edited) I cant believe my first time was 2014, it seems so much longer, it's basically when I really started overclocking. I like to pretend I have been doing it for a long time but not really. These are my first and second sessions 780 ti kpe, with cpu on water just because I really only cared about benching the gpu to see how high I could get the clocks to go. Had just heard about hwbot in 2014. Edited February 1, 2017 by Strong Island Quote

TaPaKaH Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 I've started with this hobby on air in early 2000s, but it wasn't until 2005 until I had my first subzero experience. Stuck around on 939 for a while until migrating to 478 and 775/C2D for what feels like forever. That's how insulation and pots looked back in the day before things got really professional Quote

GreekPhantom Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 So, it's time for the young (maybe too young) part of hwbot to go extreme. A couple weekends back i had the chance to overclock alongside Phi and Sofosl, and damn it was a great experience. Learned a lot of new things, from ocing till ln2 handling... The vent was the " Greek League of Legends Finals" for 2017. 1 Quote
Alex@ro Posted February 9, 2017 Posted February 9, 2017 Subzero benching, dry ice and ln2 sometime 2006-2007 i guess , good times, makes me wonder when time flied, i still do the same things, smoking and drinking lol ,not sure i had any idea what i was doing regarding benching back then.
