The big MSI MOA 2011 thread: information, videos, comments and more ...

Found a bit more information about the MOA qualifiers in the Philippines. This looks very well organized: first there's an online competition with Wprime1024M and Vantage. The top-10(!) will battle in a live final on May 21st.

Online: April 11 - 30

Live: May 21

A pity, though, that the online competition part is held at Facebook ... :-/

First stage of the MOA eliminations: The Online Battle

The top ten highest scorers in the online elimination round will then join the Philippine finals to be held at SM North EDSA CyberZone on May 21, 2011. The one among the top 10 who will dominate the live Philippine finals will bring home MSI’s Military Class II arsenal, the MSI P67A-GD5 and MSI N560GTX-Ti TwinFrozr II. Other finalists will also automatically receive MSI premium items.

First, in order to qualify, the following benchmarks are required: Wprime 1024 and 3DMark Vantage, Performance settings. Entries may be submitted beginning April 11, 2011 and posted on MSI’s official Philippine Facebook fanpage, http://www.facebook.com/MSI.Philippines until April 30, 2011 (12MN).

Submission mechanics

Participation consists of obtaining the highest possible scores: Wprime 1024 and 3DMark Vantage Performance setting score. All brands of hardware and platforms and any form of cooling are allowed. Engineering samples are allowed, provided that they have the same stepping CPUs as retail. Only single GPU card may be used.

Additional Qualifier Rules

1. Contestants can send a maximum of 3 results over the three weeks of the submission timeframe (one submission composed of 4 screenshots per week). The highest result will be the one recorded.

2. Final score will be computed by adding the Points gathered from the Wprime 1024 & Vantage Benchmark software.

3. The four screenshots may be posted on MSI’s Facebook fanpage wall, with clear file names / descriptions (for example, “[Contestant Name] Wprime 1024 Benchmark” or [Contestant Name] Contact Details”.

Screenshots will be consolidated into one Album by the MSI Fanpage admins for convenient viewing, plus per-week announcement of the highest scores will be done after the end of a one-week period on the MSI wall.

Entries will only be accepted from April 11 to 30, 2011 (12MN). Any entries received after the deadline will no longer be included in the screening for the live competition participants. The top 10 contestants plus 2 backups who will be qualified for the local finals will be contacted via phone and e-mail regarding the details. The winners’ names will be posted online.

Also picked up the rumour that there will be both LOC and a competition on HWBOT to directly qualify to the live final. More details on those two events will follow in June.

Yeah, better to contact Xyala and then we figure out something together. I'll might get a usb video grabber so we can make a okay overall stream, but nothing as nice as we hoped :(

Let me know if you need one of mine... I live in Copenhagen, so Christian will likely pass by this way anyway.... The airports in Jutland is a bit of a joke, so doubt any flight go to Istanbul.

IIRC, OCTV will not do a livestream.

I'll throw one of the available streams on the front-page I guess.

There will not have any 'Active Stream', that mean no talk, show, or nything over the video, but ther'll have some video feed for sure :)

I heared that MSI will have the room of the venie only on Friday at 1am. So there will be very little time to prepare and setup on stage. I kind of feel like the night will be short hihi.
