HWBOT NEW GUI FEEDBACK THREAD

Tim is going to update the current frontend by a new graphical Interface of HWBOT at around 07:00 CET

This thread is specifically dedicated to determine spotted errors, bugs , layout suggestions, ...

We realize there is still a lot of work to do on fine-tuning this updated version HWBOT, so we count on your cooperation OC community!

 

 

DESKTOP:
 

• Front page ranking seems sorted by date  --> swap to boints
• Participate competition button leads to profile login ?

Might not be the primary focus at first but the mobile version seems to be missing a lot of features.

- No search bar

And using desktop mode doesn't even do anything anymore

it might be a minor issue but it doesn't allign to the center on ultra wide screens


this is mainly ccs stuff what i found so far:

margin to auto instead of 0.5% alligns it to the center in this case (don't know if that might break other suff)

Clicking on the ranking button on a sub doesn't take you to the the ranking list, it takes you to the over all world record for that sub

1. When you search, for example GB3 multi core results on DDR3 memory, previously results were ordered descending, now they are ordered by by user and then by hardware, and finally by score ascending. Makes finding optimal hw for a benchmark impossible now.
2. Also, linked to above, it returns 447 pages of results, I'd like prev/next page when paging, helpful to lock your mouse on next/prev and click till you find what you want.
3. In CC category, when you clicked on a cumulative result, you moved to a page with those submissions. Now it leads you to a search page, as if search by permalink IDs was broken. That sucks in the middle of CC.

More to come probably, poked around for 10 mins during coffee break.

submenu are not alignated to the main category, it will be good tu change the color of the scare around category (like home) when the submenu is open

Unfinished, half ready front end, whole site looks like a fallen apart css website off of wayback.archive.org.
Font looks outdated, on profiles first whole fold is taken up by huge boxes (half of them are empty white space boxes, eg.: achievements) that previously used 1/4 this much of space.
Cannot see scores, subs, hw until the second page. Font sizes, textbox ratios are wrong.
On main page news have distorted placeholder bot images, super unengaging, who is gonna click on a virus looking link to see actual world records with new platform?
Same for submissions, huge space taken up by half empty boxes, have to scroll down to see hw details.

i was also annoyed by it.
Again a css issue with the padding of the main category. one way of fixing i found was making a negative margin on the child:
so margin left = -20px instead of 10px (there is most likly a cleaner way to fix this)

Spacing is completely wrong on the front page and also the fonts are way too big on desktop. Too much space completely empty in between , and also too much wasted space even with a very long scroll bar. Thank you for the update.

are you on a 1280x1024 monitor ? I can only replicate it with that resolution, Angelo lower browser to 75%

When looking at a competition page, for example PTH Radeon 6870, Looking at the individual stages only shows the top 21 submissions when before it showed everyone on the left (edit: right). Also on the main CC page, the country links are broken under awarded points. Everything else seems alright on the competition pages, but this was just a quick first look.

First of all, thank you to Leeg and the dev for all the hard work they put in to get our little site updated and working as it should be 😁

Some personal feedback I have is..

1. Can we get the arrows next to the page numbers back for scrolling pages on the front page?

2. Personally I preferred when the submit score button was separated from the rest of the main menu options, but this is personal preference

3. Front page scores seem to be kind of stuck in time at the moment. All scores from around two months ago. I see the filter by boints thing is already addressed up top. Maybe adding an option to sort by descending either globals or hardware points would be cool. Something like click on either or and it would sort by that.

4. What happened to the sponsors/partners in the main page banner?

5.. Scaling seems to be very weird at the moment as well. I reduced zoom on my 1920x1080 monitor to 90% and it looks a lot better. Full size is just weirdly spaced and awkward to look at imo.

6. PLEASE change the font to something else

It's a refreshing new look, it'll take a while to get used to though . Would be great if things were a bit more condensed, it'll probably look great on a 1440p or higher screen but for 1080p the paddings are way too big imho.

 

Small bug I found, on a profile page, when you search for submissions, you'll get a 400 error

The "mobile" issue seems to be related to the width of the window. Will it be possible to force the "desktop"/large window mode in the future ?

So far only found this issue: Home page -> Video Card World Records -> attempting to view page 3 returns error 500.

 

Feature request: A 'Back To Roadmap'-link like I quickly photoshopped here. Saves a few clicks.

We know why it happens, related to non filled in motehrboards, Tim needs to adapt the filter

4k resolution - 3840x2160 monitor. Thank you for the help Alby , lowering browser to 80% fixed it 👍. Modern look at the front page i do like it but needs a bit of work.

I have just a home button on my IPad Pro. Clicked mobile version as well. 
Some scores for i5 860 and 870 not working as well. At least WPrime.
