vega05 Posted January 6, 2012 Posted January 6, 2012 Cao guys! I am still here to break :-) I'm looking for a bios for Zotac GTX 460 256-bit has cbb to -50 ° and -60 ° cb someone has? I also ask the experts if you can have it by writing to provide zotac directly from them, say that you can 'try? Quote
Massman Posted January 7, 2012 Author Posted January 7, 2012 Just got this in my mailbox from a friendly anonymous source. According to source, this BIOS is supposed to be the xtreme OC bios for the reference HD 7970 (just like the 'pros' are using). It would allegedly disable powertune and override CCC limits. - AMD Radeon HD 7970 (reference) xtreme oc BIOS: http://91.121.148.119/downloads/VGABIOS/Tahiti_XT_C3860100_X00_BIOS_Dec20_2011.exe Double-click the .exe and the bios will be flashed on your card. If you tested this BIOS, please provide feedback Quote

matose Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Did you check clock limits in CCC and Power Tune limits (by running FUR for example and see if the GPU clock remains the same or throttles?) Quote
Hazzan Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 today I tested again HD 7970 on Ln2 still have CB -90...already tested all bios still same problem..Andre its true " the bios only helps more range for gpu and memory clock at CCC control " Quote
matose Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 You tested also with the BIOS massman published? Quote
Hazzan Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 You tested also with the BIOS massman published? Yess still same problem...I think CB not from bios Quote
matose Posted January 7, 2012 Posted January 7, 2012 Cold Boot or Cold Bug? Could be from memory, tried higher voltage? Quote
Xtreme Addict Posted January 9, 2012 Posted January 9, 2012 I guess those cards have CB issues the same as 6970. Some cards worked at full pot and some crashed -5 or -20*C. Depends on sample. I had to handpick 4x GPU from 12 pieces for 4x 6970 @ LN2, handpicking only gpus in order to run cold, not MHz. What's more, most 5870 didn't have CB but I had some samples which worked only up to -100*C. Quote
rbuass Posted January 10, 2012 Posted January 10, 2012 Still waiting a Hd7970....and still waiting a CB solution... I am almost sure the resistor thats is needed to remove to GPU mod means to kill this issues, but no videocard in my hands..no way to comprove Quote

Calathea Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Hm too bad. I'll post here if I manage to solve it. Quote
