Massman Posted December 25, 2011 Author Posted December 25, 2011 Everything goes. If you can validate on FM, it's a valid run Quote
Stelaras Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Everything goes. If you can validate on FM, it's a valid run That means that these rules don't apply to pcmark7 ???????? Update 17th March 2010: Any software or human interaction causing the benchmark application to fail to (properly) render the textures or making the rendered image to differ too much from the original due to other software tweaking Update 20th July 2010: Any software or human interaction causing the benchmark to use different calculation algorithms as intended by the original software creator. E.g. replacing the codec or browser in PCMark2005. Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted December 25, 2011 Crew Posted December 25, 2011 (edited) Looking at some scores at FM seems top 30 is uberly tweaked with 3rd party software sigh.... I hope you lot can bring them down hard... not going so deep into this ahum benchmark... Cant even get the freaking thing to work on win8, just freezes the rig... Crew Leeghoofd Posted December 25, 2011 Crew Posted December 25, 2011 (edited) Tried that mate, always freezes at collecting systemInfo, system get's very sluggish... tried running in Win7 mode, doesn't even pop up then. Administrator mode yes or no... crap program does nothing on my X58 setup... Well done Futuremark !! Another amasing product in the pcmark line... Edited December 25, 2011 by Leeghoofd Quote
knopflerbruce Posted December 25, 2011 Posted December 25, 2011 Erm, it could be the windows version, win 8 is a beta product after all. Quote
Crew Leeghoofd Posted December 25, 2011 Crew Posted December 25, 2011 removed user config, tabbed disabling systeminfo, seems to run now... this benchmark is a monstrocity in my book... Quote

knopflerbruce Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 maybe we should collect some info and post it somewhere - just stuff that makes the benchmark run without issues:D Quote
Massman Posted December 26, 2011 Author Posted December 26, 2011 That means that these rules don't apply to pcmark7 ???????? Update 17th March 2010: Any software or human interaction causing the benchmark application to fail to (properly) render the textures or making the rendered image to differ too much from the original due to other software tweaking Update 20th July 2010: Any software or human interaction causing the benchmark to use different calculation algorithms as intended by the original software creator. E.g. replacing the codec or browser in PCMark2005. The rules definitely need a complete re-write; it's complete chaos. Something to do in 2012 ! Imho, 'back in the day' whoever said ramdisk should not be tolerated in PCMark05 was wrong. Who are 'we' to say that a user should not optimize his configuration by making the most of the DRAM he's using? It only makes sense to use DRAM for lower latency if your HDD is not up for the task. The same goes for the browser: why on earth would you not allow people to change their browser if it's too slow. The rules for PCMark05 won't change in that respect; for that it's way too late. But for PCMark7, we can do it differently. As long as you don't change the benchmark code, everything should be allowed. Btw, the software tuning aspect is present in every benchmark: changing desktop resolution for higher 3DM03 in W7, enabling LSC, flashing 3DM01-boost BIOS, copy-waza. The difference with PCMark is just that all those tweaks are in the open, whereas PCMark7 is still largely uncovered. In the olden days, there were a lot of "3Dmark tweaking guides" floating around ... we'll just have to wait for a PCMark7 tweaking guide to appear . Quote
Stelaras Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Thank you Pieter for the detailed answer . Quote
Chiller Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 i submitted a score for country cup in Pcmark benchmark, but my score is not added to the list of belgium?????? http://hwbot.org/submission/2234593_hybridchiller_pcmark7_2x_xeon_x5550_3471_marks And yes i submitted it to the country cup, maybe some bug ? Quote
Massman Posted December 27, 2011 Author Posted December 27, 2011 The stage is based on CPU socket. Leeghoofd already has a higher score with LGA1366. Quote
Chiller Posted December 27, 2011 Posted December 27, 2011 but i have 8 core. the score of leeghoofd is 4core. Pcmarks goes about number of cores..... Quote
Massman Posted December 27, 2011 Author Posted December 27, 2011 In the normal rankings, yes, but not for the Country Cup . Quote
Lucky_n00b Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Hello, I just want to confirm, is it okay to submit scores with SystemInfo disabled? My Win8 setup cannot get to run unless i unchecked the SysInfo. Thanks, Quote
SteveRo Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 ^^ Use Systeminfo 4.6.0 - it works fine. If you can't pass sysinfo you need to lower your oc, then raise it after sysinfo runs - if you can Quote
